This is nice to use until you inevitably put it into your pocket with some keys and suddenly the screens scratched to buggery

Some of the cheaper plans that both companies had will be going away because of this buyout. |

sounds good to me too... with this announcement i'll have to switch to sprint at the end of my term with AT&T because i'm really not interested in putting up with anymore of their horseshit. |

Phone discussion thread
I've just treated myself to a new phone. It's my first smartphone. It's a HTC Wildfire A3333 model. I didn't want to get an iphone and even though I could actually afford one I just don't wanna be walking round with that expensive a piece of kit in pocket. Plus I've got an ipod touch for my home listening so I thought I'd try an Android phone. What's the word on Android phones? Anyone else got one? Mines still charging up so I don't know what it's gonna be like.
|
I have an iPhone and I'm never looking back. I couldn't be happier with this thing. When the iPhone 5 comes out, I'm gonna upgrade to that sucker too.

ah! I only searched for 'phones'. I noticed on a y/t vid the other day even Serge Brin is calling them 'mobiles' now. They've always been called that over here. cellphone is a bit of a mouthful.

-Bigger screen -Higher capacity (probably a 64 GB model) -More lenient on-network usage (FaceTime over 3G, downloads/updates over 20MB) -A new charging/sync port (that 30-pin connector is so outdated) -Better cameras (probably 8MP rear and 1.3MP front) I'm not completely sold on iCloud, as I'm picky about what I sync (considering I'm always maxing out my 32 GB's). I would rather that every app that I download, hate, and delete wasn't permanently a part of my account. The Over-The-Air updates will be handy though, assuming that they don't force you to use wifi to get them. Which iPhone 4 model do you have Duga? Here's my specs: Phone: Apple iPhone 4 Carrier: AT&T (GSM) Capacity: 32 GB Processor: 1.0 GHz Apple A4 Screen: Capacitive touch screen --Resolution: 960x640 pixels --Size: 3.5'' --Contrast Ratio: 800:1 RAM: 512MB eDRAM OS: iOS 4.3.4 (Haven't gotten the 4.3.5 update yet) Camera: 5.0MP rear / 0.3 MP front |
Droid X. I will never switch from Android to iPhone. I love Apple, own 3 Macs.

iphones don't support Flash and that is their biggest **** up ever. I have an ipod touch for music and wifi capabilities but the lack of flash really pisses me off but this also means I am not really fussed what sort of phone I have and the only thing I look for is a decent camera and despite the small screen my Sony Ericsson 5MP cyber shot phone does the job for me.
Apart from having a device for storing as much music as possible I could easily live without a hand held device and would much prefer to ditch my phone but having kids it's something I have to have unfortunately. |

The reason why I love Android is because they support Java and Flash and are far more open with app development, and that is a big win on their part. |
iPhone 3GS :) I'd never have anything else ever.
|
I have an lg cosmos touch from verizon wireless
Im thinking of a android pretty soon(: |
Got an iphone 3g for christmas, 4 weeks later I broke it lol typical of anything expensive I get given to look after.
Luckily it's all fixed and working. I wish I knew how to put music as a ringtone though, the factory options aren't great. |

HTC Wildfire S. The screens too small and it doesn't allow me to d/l Flash from Android Market but apart from that I'm happy with it. I had an iphone for about a 2 weeks but grew to dislike it 'cause walking around and moving in the circles I do with kit worth that much money made feel too consious of it. Plus I wanted to raise a bit of cash to pay for my laptop to be repaired and to be rid of Apple Quicktime on my laptop. I lost about £60 selling back to the same shop i bought it from part exchange for this phone and a 32GB mem card plus a voucher for £36. Recnetly discorvered a Bookmarks folder app on Market that's cost £0.99. If it doesn't go all buggy on me I'll be happy with that, likewise the music player I'm trialing atm.

I think I might be the last person left in the developed world without a cell phone

I know but I couldn't afford the monthly tariff for iPhones and I wasn't sure how good some of the androids were because my mates one was **** (I soon fixed that) so much regret now :( I've had it since November the 5th and it's completely ****ed now. It'll never last two years.

Got one of these:
http://www.htcphones.net/wp-content/...tc-inspire.jpg Best cell phone I've ever owned. I'm completely spoiled now. |
A friend of mine has that, androids are the actual way forward.
|
Free phone from my service provider. It really doesn't get more sophisticated or high end than this. I'll bet you're all pretty jealous.

Unfortunately I feel like the only one still without a smart phone!
|
You have company Neil, you are not the only one without a smart phone.
Actually, as long as i can phone and txt and have my laptop near me, life is good! |
I am using nokia x1 01 which is a dual sim phone. It doesn't have a camera and bluetooth technology but it has a 4 gig memory so i download a lot of songs. Battery life span is about 36 hours to 48 hours.

I’ve now got a Samsung Galaxy mini, I think as a replacement for my HTC Wildire s.
Here are the pluses and minuses Pluses Wi-fi Hotspot works thereby enabling me full internet acess. This is a plus plus The camera/camcorder doesn’t have dodgy light blance inbuilt into making the screen go dark even in broad daylight Minuses The keyboard and esp. text selection function is unwieldy. It hasn’t got a flash which means I also can’t download a flashlight app I can’t connect the new phone to my laptop because the driver software thing or w/e it is needs a disc which because I bought the phone second hand I haven’t got so I can’t add or remove music to my sd card as yet. All I can do is add mp3s to Dropbox and play it on there but that’s ****. Hopefully Google music will come to Europe soon and I can play my mp3s from there on my phone. I can’t hide pic and vid folders so if I’m showing my mum the latest vid of her dog I’ve filemd while out walking the damn mutt I might end up showing her a porn vid It only plays porn vids when held horizontal which erm isn’t as convient as if it played them when held vertical too So a few more minuses than pluses but the only minus I’m really bothered about is the keyboard and the plus plus of the wifi hotspot working means I’d be happy with this phone if all it did was phone calls, text and wifi hotspot saying that though I think I’m going to keep my eye out for another one. The problem is most of them are too cumbersome to use on the go. For eg I tried a HtC Desire sd the other week which, apart from the usual problem with HTC camera/camcorders was a brilliant phone but I took it back ‘cause I hated how cumbersome it felt in my jeans pocket. |
Crapberry. That's gonna change soon.
|
I own a 20 dollar samsung prepaid cellphone with 16 colors and a super jewel quest game.
Jealous? |
