In what way? It's shocking sure, but come on man. More people than not are going to celebrate what that man did in his career.

Hendrix - overdose
Elvis - drug abuse
Cobain - suicide
Morrison - overdose
Prince - overdose
Lord Sutch - suicide
McCready - suicide
Delp - suicide

10 years from now his legacy will be just fine. Having demons is not a crime.

I don't want to be that guy, but this will actually help his legacy. People love a good sob story.

Yup. The world already had its Kurt Cobain. If he's going to go out like a punk, I'm under no obligation to treat his legacy with any special royalty. "Oooooh, his last song. What's it mean, man? So deep, man. What a hero and martyr."

Nah. Tired of the glorification of suicide and as much as I like grunge music, it's hard not to relegate that whole scene to a footnote in history. *Sigh*, they all killed themselves. Sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, man.

Plus he was 52

And only had 1 or 2 decent songs

Saw Soundgarden before they were famous

Always thought they were boring

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Comparing him with Kobain is pretty silly. Cornell had an incredible voice. And lots of people think he was a pretty damn good all around musician. YMMV.

I got up feeling so down
I got off being sold out
I've kept the movie rolling
But the story's getting old now, oh yeah
I just looked in the mirror
And things aren't looking so good
I'm looking California and feeling Minnesota, oh yeah

I actually kind of hated Cornell's voice about 95% of the time. I much prefer Cobain's voice.

That is the first time I have ever seen anyone write that. I mean different strokes, but really?

I'm surprised you've never heard anyone say this. Sometimes he was alright, but more often than not for me his voice existed in an awkward spot where it was too bombastic to hit me with gut-level emotion yet not bombastic enough to be interesting.

And Soundgarden was ripping off Nirvana before they even existed huh
