Let's play who won't face reality if it contradicts what you want to believe because you're ****ing selfish. You're in the running.

Im not denying religion is part of the problem, im rejecting your position that it is the entire problem. I dont want to believe anything, i want to use evidence and reason to assess it and your position does not fit reality.

Occult, how about the vast majority of people whose faith works as a good thing in their lives?

You should read this:

https://www.amazon.com/Case-God-Kare...aren+armstrong

It should be noted that Armstrong doesn't believe in God but strongly believes in the positive power of faith.

Quote:

A nuanced exploration of the part that religion plays in human life, drawing on the insights of the past in order to build a faith that speaks to the needs of our dangerously polarized age.

Moving from the Paleolithic age to the present, Karen Armstrong details the great lengths to which humankind has gone in order to experience a sacred reality that it called by many names, such as God, Brahman, Nirvana, Allah, or Dao. Focusing especially on Christianity but including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Chinese spiritualities, Armstrong examines the diminished impulse toward religion in our own time, when a significant number of people either want nothing to do with God or question the efficacy of faith. Why has God become unbelievable? Why is it that atheists and theists alike now think and speak about God in a way that veers so profoundly from the thinking of our ancestors?

nah i don't have faith therefore it is not real

OccultHawk 05-24-2017 08:11 PM

Isn't the fact that it's bull**** reason enough to hate religion. I'm sick of being showered in the ****ing stupidity. I don't care if it makes stupid people feel good. It makes me feel bad. Even at a loved-one's funeral I have to listen to this retard fairy tale bull****.

I can't comment on her book though. I will concede that many people benefit from faith psychologically and it may be a default psychological position for evolutionary reasons. But I don't care. I personally ****ing hate it. It makes me ****ing sick. Every time I here people express their faith I want to smash their ****ing teeth in.
