And what are they delivering that a Rebel will due? Surely not pizza.
They deliver EVERYTHING out here.

McDonald's, Burger King, Chili's, TGI Fridays, Indian Food, Lebanese Food... pretty much everything except Mexican food, they don't know how to make that for some reason. But yeah, they ride around town on those little 250's and make pretty good time too.

How the hell do they deliver pizzas without messing them up? I cant imagine how one could do that.

I'd go with the Triumph or a Honda Rebel.
Or you can be like fuck it all and shoot for a Ducati. How cool would that be, a Ducati? Would you like that? Yeah I bet you would.

By putting exactly one teaspoon of sauce on the pizza. Dry pizzas don't slide, I guess. They do however, taste like poop.

Terrible advise. 2 different types of bikes. 2 different reasons for owning each.

Honestly, I think Ducatis are ugly. The "Monster" is alright looking, but - call me prejudiced - I don't have faith in Italian engineering. I'm interested in getting a motorcycle primarily because the cost of running my truck around is getting too high; a Ducati would be an improvement, but not as much as I'd like.

Regarding the Rebel; again, I don't want to see what happens after a year of running it at 70+mph for some 15,000k miles. Honda engineering and all, I've my doubts the little engine would like being pushed to the max that often.

--------

Hmmm.

So, I think it's getting narrowed down to:

Triumph Scrambler (about $8.5k new) - 900 ccs, 58bhp
BMW G650GS (about $7.3 new) 650 ccs, 48bhp
Suzuki V-Strom (about $6.2 new) 650 ccs, 63bhp

I think the Triumph looks the best, well, is actually the only one that doesn't look like a sex toy - but would it be worth the cost difference?

Any word on BMW motorcycles reliability or cost of ownership? I know their cars quality has gone downhill the past few decades; same deal with the motorcycles?

1. How dare you! In all seriousness Ducati's imo are the best racing machines out. They have more racing wins than any other brand of bike.

2. I think your right about stressing a little 250. It will fall apart.

3. Sounds like you like the euro cruiser styling. Triumphs are great bikes, but you should not ignore looking ofr a used one. Remember you can spend the money saved souping it up and on gear gas. Also keep noted that you should not pick a bike based off horsepower and specs, you must get on it and ride it. If its not comfortable and wont handle well your not gona like nomatter how powerful the engine is.

The Ducati was a joke.
Regarding the Rebel, I mentioned that for the sake of cheapness. It is much cheaper than the Scrambler but built by Honda. I've heard that they aren't bad bikes. As an alternative, the Honda Shadow is modestly priced but has a 750cc engine. However, if you have an affinity toward English construction and don't have a problem coughing up a couple thousand dollars more then I would say the Triumph is a good bike for the money. Triumphs are cool, too.

People who get bikes to powerful for their skills often get hurt bad so I was just looking out.
