Your Summer

So, yeah. We have not reached the fall equinox yet. But as far as I'm concerned September 1st means the end of summer. How did you spend it? Or for our friends in the southern hemisphere, how as your winter?

For me, I did a lot of work at a summer camp, which seriously cut down on my MB time. But I got a paycheck that will pay for college this semester. And got my drivers license. Other then that... not really that much else.

How about you?

I worked, partied, and went to gigs. This was my winter.

...Summer? I didn't notice we had one. I guess I spent that rainy period where summer used to be playing games and surfing the internet because nobody ever wants to do anything any more.

Summer doesn't end for me until after Labor Day when the last bbqs go down, there is the lovely Labor Day Parade where I could down to the city and celebrate the islands that my family come from and watch some end of summer fireworks at night.

My summer was pretty lame, working , moving to a new place and more working.

I at least got to travel a few places to conventions and different meetings because of it though.

School ends in mid-April for me, so my summer vacation is nearly 5 months long, so it's more of a spring/summer vacation! But yeah, summer's winding down here but this weekend is a long weekend (Monday is Labour Day). I start school on Thursday. My summer was okay, I worked for a few hours a week, teaching music to some little kids. I helped some friends move to new places. And we saw a bunch of family that we hadn't seen in YEARS. Plus the occasional party with copious amounts of drinking. That's about it.

I worked most of it, got really drunk the rest, went to Cancun, Mexico, skinny dipped a few times, watched my friend party boy a random guy naked (friend = female), was sick everyday several times without fail, smoked and drank whilst "swimming", slept in my own room four times, never got a tan, spoke to a barman everynight just about and a week and a half later I found out he couldnt speak any english really, witnessed my friend destroy two rooms when she was drunk and broke the wardrop and chest of drawers, turned into hellboy because I thought being Scottish I didn't need suntan lotion in overcast cause "it's overcast all the time at home", went to a party with red cups, went tree climbing with ginger beer, drove around for 4 months with no brakes, toured most of Scotland and last but never least I seen my friend get his head shagged off a monkey.

I had a good run.

waking up in a strange room with a total stranger naked was a usual occurence during my university days

edit :- problem is, I could never ascertain if i did anything with him/her so i still maintain i lost my virginity at 28

I read, slept, worked on learning French, and took care of my injured boyfriend. When I didn't have school I was bored off my tits, so I think I'll not have a full vacation next summer...

My summer began with my wife finally coming home after a year spent 1700 miles away for work, a cruise to Mexico, a murder next door to my office, and a falling out with with my former employer, who had screwed me out of a ton of money. It ended with a lightning bolt, the heartbreaking death of my office mate, an earthquake, a hurricane, and the rescue of a teeny tiny little kitten. There were a couple nice things in the mix there I guess but I really hope the next few months are less fucked up.

Yeah the worst thing about summer vacation is not being in school, as crazy as that might seem.

This summer, I smoked and drank way too much, had sloppy hook-ups with girls who seemed like a good idea at the time, played my first open mic, jumped a train, somehow managed to charm a cop out of arresting me, expanded my mind with chocolates and blotter, joined a sketch comedy troupe, supported my friends' solo comedic careers and partied with them when they got paid for said gigs and needed to celebrate, ended up walking in the park late most evenings (seldom sober), met Kenny Loggins, and started going to super secret underground punk shows in an apartment in a sketch neighborhood.

My summer began pretty decently. Graduated grade 12 on June 29th, partied my face off most of that week, which stretched into the month of July, and carried on throughout August. Spent all my savings in about a month and a half, don't have much to show for it but alas.. I had a blast. I met a man at a wedding I was a bridesmaid in on July 9th and we've grown quite fond of eachother. I did some ghost hunting, found a lot of new genres of music, created some art, and a few pieces of writing. I won't be heading to university till next summer at the earliest, so I'm quite happy I get to continue relaxing and figuring out my path. All in all my summer was way different than my expectations, in fact, it was excellent. We might have a few more weeks of agreeable weather before autumn sets in, so I'm going to enjoy every last ray of sunshine and camping trip.

Spent it having fun. Dating a girl that I wound up breaking up with in the middle of the summer. Skydiving, surfing, skateboarding, riding a jet ski, wakeboarding, cliff diving, going to six flags, and just drinking on the weekends and hanging with friends after I became single.
Pretty much the same **** I would do in the spring.

Got a job. Worked worked worked. Heard a lot of new music. Worked worked worked. Helped the needy in the worst part of my city as often as I could. Worked worked worked. Went to Mexico, helped he even more needy there, delved into my mind and found out who I truly am. Got back home. Worked worked worked. Starte planning an urban garden center to feed he hungry. Got depressed for a bit, then got over it. Worked a bit more. Quit my job yesterday.

And so my summer was filled with WORK. And helping those in need. End result? Lots more money, understand myself quite a bit better. Off to he next adventure.
