Default Your Summer

So, yeah. We have not reached the fall equinox yet. But as far as I'm concerned September 1st means the end of summer. How did you spend it? Or for our friends in the southern hemisphere, how as your winter?

For me, I did a lot of work at a summer camp, which seriously cut down on my MB time. But I got a paycheck that will pay for college this semester. And got my drivers license. Other then that... not really that much else.

How about you?

I worked, partied, and went to gigs. This was my winter.

...Summer? I didn't notice we had one. I guess I spent that rainy period where summer used to be playing games and surfing the internet because nobody ever wants to do anything any more.

Summer doesn't end for me until after Labor Day when the last bbqs go down, there is the lovely Labor Day Parade where I could down to the city and celebrate the islands that my family come from and watch some end of summer fireworks at night.

My summer was pretty lame, working , moving to a new place and more working.

I at least got to travel a few places to conventions and different meetings because of it though.

School ends in mid-April for me, so my summer vacation is nearly 5 months long, so it's more of a spring/summer vacation! But yeah, summer's winding down here but this weekend is a long weekend (Monday is Labour Day). I start school on Thursday. My summer was okay, I worked for a few hours a week, teaching music to some little kids. I helped some friends move to new places. And we saw a bunch of family that we hadn't seen in YEARS. Plus the occasional party with copious amounts of drinking. That's about it.

I worked most of it, got really drunk the rest, went to Cancun, Mexico, skinny dipped a few times, watched my friend party boy a random guy naked (friend = female), was sick everyday several times without fail, smoked and drank whilst "swimming", slept in my own room four times, never got a tan, spoke to a barman everynight just about and a week and a half later I found out he couldnt speak any english really, witnessed my friend destroy two rooms when she was drunk and broke the wardrop and chest of drawers, turned into hellboy because I thought being Scottish I didn't need suntan lotion in overcast cause "it's overcast all the time at home", went to a party with red cups, went tree climbing with ginger beer, drove around for 4 months with no brakes, toured most of Scotland and last but never least I seen my friend get his head shagged off a monkey.

I had a good run.

I read, slept, worked on learning French, and took care of my injured boyfriend. When I didn't have school I was bored off my tits, so I think I'll not have a full vacation next summer...

My summer began with my wife finally coming home after a year spent 1700 miles away for work, a cruise to Mexico, a murder next door to my office, and a falling out with with my former employer, who had screwed me out of a ton of money. It ended with a lightning bolt, the heartbreaking death of my office mate, an earthquake, a hurricane, and the rescue of a teeny tiny little kitten. There were a couple nice things in the mix there I guess but I really hope the next few months are less fucked up.
