I don't know a bout you but I don't get high because its illegal, I do i cuz i like it. It just shows what kind of a poser you for only wanting to do something if its illegal to be cool. I like pot cuz it comes from mother-earth and is less harmful than tobaco which dosen't even get you high.

Well.....after a few hundred people, and in particular druggies have 'harvest' and given it a good palming. And also pot notoriously causes paranoia of the mind of the smoker along with the factor of the increased good old lung cancer.

that explains why you made a sublime thread in this forum, and a sublime thread in general

adidasss 04-28-2005 05:03 PM

marehuanaa....marehuanaaa...

Trauma 04-28-2005 06:29 PM

Well I've smoked it a couple times with my friends and bought my friend a quarter and dime for his birthday a couple weeks ago. I voted yes to legalize it even though a bunch of crazy $hit would start happening. I think it's a lot more fun not legal because it gives you an adrenaline rush carrying it. Like thinking a German Shepherd will maul you on your way to 4th hour.... I don't think oojay is a "poser" for thinking that.

EDGE 04-28-2005 06:38 PM

Either way.
I dont care.
In a way, I say yes, because it's people's choices.
But, another side says no because when kids are exposed to that **** they may assume it's "okay".
But whatever.

.angie. 04-28-2005 07:28 PM

i say no, drugs are stupid.

jesus 04-28-2005 07:29 PM

even if it was legalized there would be some stupid age limit

hookers with machineguns 04-28-2005 09:11 PM

I think it would be neat if the government regulated it just like they do alcohol. Make millions of businesses outta it to boost the economy, and create a whole new market for farmers. it's one hell of a cash crop. They could even tax it and use that money towards something productive. I think the main problem is that the anti-drug programs are selling their "gateway drug" theory, and the "common man" is giving into it. It won't be done, at least for a while.

Sweet Jane 04-28-2005 10:35 PM

That's what I always thought they should do too Hookers. They could tax it in the same way they do alcohol and tobacco, save a whole load of wasting police time as well as using the tax for something worthwhile. However; at a time where they government are trying to ban smoking in public places here, and promote a healthier nation in general as well as raising awareness of mental illness, it would completely go against the whole government mantra, therefore, aint gonna happen at the moment.

walkin' dude 04-29-2005 03:53 AM

Yeah, I agree with hookers & sweet jane, I think legalisation is the only way forward because the government can't control it at the moment. If it was regulated it may cut down on the amount of users that shouldn't be using (in my opinion that’s anyone below the age of 18). I don't even smoke it any more, but I think I should be able to if I chose to without being punished. As for the factor about health concerns pretty much everything you touch nowadays has a risk factor, I think as long as you do whatever you do responsively you should have the choice.

This is true.

dog 04-29-2005 04:31 AM

my name is in it. - mariJUANa. so cool.

walkin' dude 04-29-2005 04:55 AM

I think it should be restricted, just like alcohol and cigarettes. Age limits aren't stupid there their for a reason. Anyway even if you're not old enough, the age limit laws aren't that effective, you can still get whatever you want.
The first time I ever got asked for Id was after I'd turned 18, never once before I was 18 and I used to go to bars and clubs and smoke (I still smoke)

dog 04-29-2005 04:59 AM

i dunno anythin bout the drug. makin it illegal didnt really do anything. bill hicks had a GREAT point on weed. love that guy

pastor of muppets 04-29-2005 05:34 AM

its legal in holland and they had a decrease in usage rates so it would be better that way anyway

It seems to be the only way forward. There not gonna get under control using law enforcement

It's quite funny really, because the only reason it is a gateway to other drugs is because you need to be in contact with a dealer to get it, therefore harder drugs are also on hand if you ever want them. No-one thinks nicotene, caffiene or alcohol is a gateway to smacking up, just because they're legal.

walkin' dude 04-29-2005 09:07 AM

Thats right, my dealer first started selling me coffee. Once I was hooked on that he said try an Irish coffee (coffee & whisky) and that a cigarette was the best thing to have with a coffee, so I started smoking.
After a day or so and I wasn't getting head rush's of cig's and I smoked alot 'cause my new taste for alcohol, he started me on weed.
That led to coke, crack, E's, ketamine, Lsd, and herion. When I went to quit I got depressed so now I'm on valium. :)

IMATOOL 04-29-2005 10:27 AM

I don't think that it will happen ANYTIME soon, everyone has really good points on why the gov't wouldn't due, the age limit would happen for sure. But if the gov't sold pot and paid farmers to grow it for them the would be a huge boost for the economy. I mainly like it to relive stress, i love my after school bowl.

Im a member of NORML (the national organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws)

theres plenty of reasons why marijuana should be legalized, ill give some of my personal favorites:

1. the potential to be manufactured into more than 25,000 environmentally friendly products

2.Hemp produces a much higher yield per acre than do common substitutes such as cotton and requires few pesticides. In addition, hemp has an average growing cycle of only 100 days and leaves the soil virtually weed-free for the next planting.

3.hemp seeds' nutritional value, noting that it's second only to soy in protein and contains the highest concentration of essential amino and fatty acids found in any food

4.pain relief -- particularly of neuropathic pain (pain from nerve damage) -- nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Also a powerful appetite stimulant, specifically for patients suffering from HIV, the AIDS wasting syndrome, or dementia.

5.Enforcing marijuana prohibition costs taxpayers an estimated $10 billion annually and results in the arrest of more than 734,000 individuals per year -- far more than the total number of arrestees for all violent crimes combined, including murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

6.Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.

7.Ethanol, methanol, methane gas, and gasoline can be derived from biomass at a fraction of the cost of the current cost of oil, coal, or nuclear energy, especially when environmental costs are factored in. Each acre of hemp could yield about 1000 gallons of methanol, when an energy crop is growing, it takes carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air, and releases an equal amount when it is burned, creating a balanced system, unlike petroleum fuels, which only release CO2. When an energy crop like hemp is grown on a massive scale, it will initially lower the CO2 in the air, and then stabilize it at a level lower than before the planting of the energy crop.(Petroleum fuel increases carbon monoxide in the atmosphere and contributes heavily to global warming and the greenhouse effect, which, the EPA has warned, will lead to global catastrophe in the next 50 years if these trends continue) Use of biomass would end acid rain, end sulfer-based smog, and reverse the greenhouse effect.

8.Hemp can be made into any building material, including fiberboard, roofing, flooring, wallboard, caulking, cement, paint, paneling, particleboard, plaster, plywood, reinforced concrete, insulation, insulation panels, spray-on insulation, concrete pipes, bricks, and biodegradable plastic composites which are tougher than steel.
Henry Ford used hemp-and-sisal cellulose plastic to build car doors and fenders in 1941. On video Henry Ford demonstrated that his hemp cars were more resistant to blows from a sledgehammer than steel-bodied cars were and not as heavy.

9.One acre of hemp can produce as much paper as 4 to 10 acres of trees over a 20-year cycle, but hemp stalks only take four months to mature, whereas trees take 20 to 80 years.

10.Hemp plants can even pull nuclear toxins from the soil. In fact hemp was planted near and around the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site to pull radioactive elements from the ground. The process is called phyto-remediation, which means using plants (phyto) to clean up polluted sites.

(i could go on forever, but that should give everyone something to chew for awhile)

That's awesome. I've worked with NORML members before, and I think they really got their facts down. Last election, our state's chapter worked their butts off and were able to decriminalize first time possessions in my town (by a landslide I might add). But apparently, the local police department is working with city prosecutors to enact an initiative to overturn the new law, using typical scare tactics to misinform the general public.
I still don't think NORML has the firepower to lead the general public towards favoring legalization, but decriminalization is still a giant step, and I personally think it will happen (but slowly) throughout the US.

If the U.S. paid farmers for growing weed then they wouldn't have to subsidize them for growing nothing which happens now...so yes, I guess it would benefit the economy.

riseagainstrocks 04-29-2005 04:02 PM

a drug is a drug is a drug. all are harmful and all should stay illeagle.

blackTshirt 04-30-2005 03:01 AM

yep, that's what i think too but that comes from someone who hasn't tried it

pastor of muppets 04-30-2005 05:32 AM

yeh but its ure choice if someone wants to use it they should be able to. teh yshould be informed that it carries the risk of several diseases but they should still be able to use it. however i dont believe that companies should be able to sell it, only people to grow it for own use other wise companies will downplay the health risks as with smoking.

.angie. 04-30-2005 12:08 PM

but wouldnt you want to prevent these diseases? i sure as hell would, just because it gets you high. i wouldnt want to be a drug addict, that would suck. and i have never done it, never plan to. i think drugs are the single most worst things made.

ok, fine. the government is right up there with drugs. and the government is bad only because george w bush is a retard and he cant talk like a normal human being, and he also like to create large words that dont even make sense. i hate that man with a passion. i want to poke his eyes out and make him eat them.

but back on task.. im sure there are people out there that think drugs are fabulous, but why? i dont get it.

because:
A) they think they look cool and rebellious taking a substance thats a danger
or
B) they make a person feel better.
and enough of this anti-government bull****. true its a shambles but without it our countries would be in an even bigger ****heap then they already are.

i wasnt agreeing with the fact some people think drugs are cool, i was merely stating a fact. as ive said, a lot of people take drugs as a form of escapism from reality, some people lives may just be that ****. you nor i will understand because we simply do not depend on them to get us through the day.
