Default For Her.

I don't want to post this in order to garner sympathy. I just need to do something to honour Elaine who was my partner of 19 years and who died this morning of heart failure due to routine minor surgery.

It may sound cliched as **** but those that you love or care for hug them, make up with them or just call them. Time is so short and I feel so guilty that I have moaned or complained about stupid crap that doesn't really matter.

It was a honour and a privilege to know someone that deserved far better.

She wasn't a big music fan but there has been a recent ad campaign over here and she really liked the song that was used and my eldest son has chosen this for her funeral:

A mod can lock this, I just wanted to say that time is so damn short, take it with both hands and cherish it.

R.I.P

I never thought I'd see anything like this on the forum.
Even the older members of the forum are still relatively young and to open this thread and to see this has really shocked me, nobody should be taken away that young.

I'm sorry for your loss Lee, especially at this time of the year. My thoughts are with you mate.

I know it may seem crass to some people to be posting on a music forum at a time like this but music has already helped me through some of the day and I don't want to be sat down on the sofa only for my kids to find me drunk or passed out.

I just need to do something that requires a little focus. All those times u imagine certain songs to get u through have really done it for me today and then some.

My kids are OK, they seem to be in a state of shock as I am but I have been strong for them but just taking a little time out ATM.

My deepest condolences to you and your family, my friend.
I think I've been in shock since I read this and I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. I know I'm not alone here in saying that if there's anything I can do to help in any way then please ask.

This is shocking. Your thoughts are not cliched or hollow in the slightest. Time and unforeseen occurrence can befall us all. It's easy to look back and feel guilty, but I hope you will look back and think of all the wonderful things that you had together as well.

I'm so very sorry for you and your children's loss, Lee. My heart and thoughts go out to y'all, and if there is anything I can do, please let me know hun.
