This is a particularly cool Christmas for me, as I'll be hosting my very first Christmas dinner for the family at my place. And, as tradition would not really have it, I'll be making a jambalaya, crab & corn bisque, gumbo, homemade rolls, and some kicking little cocktail shrimps.

Chef Freebase wishes you all a merry Christmas.

That sounds very exotic. I haven't even heard of some of those!

Same here. The Americans seem to absorb all the very best of Europe, while we're all too busy being insular.

True. I don't know how many generations of my family have suffered duck and sprouts on every Christmas.
Sorry, I'm being a Scrooge again!

I'm going to take this opportunity to call you a dirty south mofo.

Merry Christmas.

Jambalaya, gumbo, and pretty much anything with crab is pretty standard in Louisiana, but most of the folks I know do a traditional Christmas dinner that most people are used to.
I had a traditional Thanksgiving, so I really wanted to switch it up.

Up here, a snowstorm came just in time for Christmas, while the day before it was all brown and gray... that can only be good.

Merry Christmas everybody!

This one looks extremely tasty. Is that parsley on the top?
