He's white, and he sings Christmas songs.

Freebase Dali 12-24-2011 07:32 PM

I bought myself some stuff for the apartment.
I don't think I'll be getting anything from immediate family members, as they likely can't afford it, and most of them live in other states anyway. My parents will probably give me stuff from their freezer...
I'm not worried about it though. I have everything I need.
Socks and underwear would be cool though. Can never have enough of those. Where are grandparents when you need them? (oh...dead)

Heh, I wrapped various 50 dollar checks with wrapping paper and a bow and everything for them when they come tomorrow. They're under a tiny Christmas tree I bought.
Even though it's the thought that supposedly count, I know they'd prefer money. I'm just not giving as much of it out this year.
At least they'll be happy to know I'm making an awesome dinner, and I even stooped so low as to download one of those fireplace video loops and put a Christmas album to it and made a DVD of it for the living room... I mean.. I never...
Hilariously enough, I HAVE A FUCKING FIREPLACE.

I just don't wanna dick around with it.

Got the BlackBerry Torch 2. Sweet device. Very speedy, and very efficient. The navigation is not all that different from the other BlackBerry devices, and I was able to do pretty much everything within ten minutes of powering up. The touch screen is nice, big, and has a wonderful color display. I'm going to download some tunes on it and see how the sound quality is with headphones. It works VERY nice without.

Also got some books - Sylvia Plath's unabridged journals, a filmmaking book, The Help, and whatnot.

Oh, and I got a tent! Going to set that sucker up later on - it appears to be pretty damn roomy, and is going to be great for festies this summer.

Also got a few board games, an Arrested Development shirt, cash, and assorted doo-dads. Pretty nice haul! Now, I'm going to take a power nap before getting ready for Christmas dinner.

Mykonos 12-25-2011 03:58 AM

I got a new PC. Lenovo Ideacentre B320, I think it is. Gorgeous thing. And guess what's downloading onto it now? Only my future soulmate, Skyrim.

I love those Nixon watches. I've had my eye on a couple of them, and I think I might buy one with all the cash I got for Christmas.

Here's my loot:

http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/a...asloot2011.jpg

  • Pajamas (2 pairs - the plaid ones and the red ones)
  • A sweater
  • P vs Z game. It was on my old laptop but the hard drive got formatted and I lost the original disc. So not really a "gift", just a replacement that I didn't have to buy.
  • Lots of chocolate
  • iTunes card
  • $165 in cold hard cash (as you can see)
The best thing that I got though is a $100 gift certificate to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (bottom right corner). I'm so excited because they're putting on so many great performances during the second half of the season. I missed Lang Lang in November, but I think I'm going to go see Yo-Yo Ma perform with them. I'm already going to see a special performance with Itzhak Perlman on April 28th, one night only. Can't wait for that!

Haha, well so far I haven't purchased any music on iTunes, I instead used some of the money to buy Civilization Revolution and Minecraft: Pocket Edition. :D

Anyway, I'd take pictures but my camera is currently in Scotland with my dad. I got:

I got more cash from my aunt. 100 dollars!!!!! So now I have $265 in cash, and about $200 in various gift cards. Guess who's going on a shopping spree? Except not tomorrow - I don't have the nerve or the patience to go shopping on Boxing Day.

Oh and check out the sweet $100 bill I got:

http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/a...asticmoney.jpg

It's ****ing made of plastic! Which is what they're starting to introduce here to curb counterfeiting of money. A see-through section and everything! I never heard of plastic money before, let alone touched it! It's such a novelty and I think it's cool, but I'll have to let it go when I put it in the bank :(

Shame Bill Bailey & Alexander Armstrong weren't in it more.

According to my 'rents, they don't do men's style ankle weights. I'm not too fussed anyway, its not like they're gonna be on show any of the time. Its good enough. 1.5Kg on each leg. Will probably make my daily tasks a bit healthier.

I could of sworn this was taken in an American store. Only Americans can eat that much chocolate.

True, I was hoping to see loads of Bill Bailey. If they went to all that trouble of getting him in, why only have him in a few scenes?

And the same for Claire Skinner from Sleepy Hollow. Hardly saw her.

Mind you, they're probably worried about them upstaging Matt Smith.

RVCA 12-25-2011 04:59 PM

I got a sony vinyl player. Now I just need some gigantic speakers and I'll be the most obnoxious kid on my street

SATCHMO 12-25-2011 05:54 PM

I got a white 32g iPhone, but Santa says it's gonna take him 3-5 business days to get it down the chimney.

s_k 12-25-2011 06:10 PM

I got, and I'm not kidding, 50 packs of cat food :D.
There's this certain type of cat food my cat loves and it's often sold out.
So my mother collected some for me.

And, just like last year, which is sort of the idea from now on:
http://www.krantvanflevoland.nl/file...lands-2012.jpg
Tickets to the Lowlands Festival ;).
Which is more than expensive enough :D
