Cyber goth... I just cannot stand this fashion. Everything about it is impractical to the point where it detracts from everyday use. I'm not the biggest fan of most goth style to begin with, although at least some of the less ostentatious does have some aesthetic beauty and intrigue to it. Cyber goth... ugh. I think it's the pipe hair extensions, they just look ugly.

Face it, there is no way you could ever imagine what this person looks like when they wake up in the morning.

Come on, that is not real. *wishful thinking*

I don't mind the more subdued goth look as some people can pull it off, but this is just ridiculous. There's no way anyone could go down the street to the shop for a loaf of bread and a litre of milk dressed like that. It looks more like anime cosplay more than anything else.

I've seen a girl in Davis, CA where I went to college circa 2006 wearing this style, but in pink. And not as much accessories, if any. And yeah, I worked at the Safeway and she'd come in and shop. Most people gossiped, I actually thought it was pretty hot. But she was a good few years older than me and I only saw her at work and I will admit it's not the kind of style that screams "come talk to me"... turns out she lived in my apartment complex and had a equally dress boyfriend.

I dig the idea of neon green, but yeah... that's kind of too much. The lip coloring is unnecessary, even more so that neon stripe. Lose the hair 'extensions' and just color the hair. Lose the furry boots! And the fishnet. And the shirt and pants. And meet me in the bedroom!

My dad wears those. He doesn't care about what is 'in'. They are really good for work.

I can't hate those sandals. They seem comfy. No socks, though, but I'd wear them around the house or anywhere where I wouldn't need to run for some reason [and even that's manageable]

That's exactly right, dad wears no socks with them and it keeps the air flowing during long hot days at work. :)

Farfisa 02-19-2012 05:32 AM

I find it beyond stupid that the term "industrial" came from Throbbing Gristle, yet cyber goths label their ****ty goth rave music as "industrial".

more "funny' than "bad" and not strictly "fashion" but these should be banned:-

Surely don't have to care about what's "in" to care about what looks fucking awful? And I'm sure they are.

I see people like that walk around town all the time. Moreso in summer.

These are very popular among biologists. Many wear them with socks. Last year, I met a geologist who wears them without socks all year, even during winter.

Yes, I do own a couple of pairs :D I love that I can get wet feet with these on and it doesn't really matter. I wear'em outside through most of summer.

edit :

Never with socks, though! You have to draw the line somewhere.

edit yet again :

People don't generally wear these today and I hope dearly they never become popular again. These kind of baggy stretch pants with wild colors and ****.

http://bloggfiler.no/sliksattfarao.b...6660266898.jpg

I remember they were quite popular here in the early 90s .. Good gods. People called them bodybuilder pants because they were popular with beefy types. >.<

Grandma boots that lose their shape after a week. Moccasins without the laces. Horrible things.

As for the cyber goths........ at least they are making an effort. I like it.

Sparky 02-19-2012 04:11 PM

Every single female in the world wears those, i believe. This is merely based on personal observation, so it is yet to be confirmed.

Uggs are atrocious, trendy shit. Good god, why does every woman have a pair? Aren't they 200 dollar boots?

Bitch, please.

hip hop bunny hop 02-19-2012 04:45 PM

I really, really wish young women with pretensions of being hip would stop dressing like old ladies. It causes far too many, extremely awkward, rubbernecking moments.

Men should never, ever wear sandals, shorts, sleeveless shirts or anything that exposes their body too much unless they're at the damn beach or at home. That last thing I want to see is some goddamned arm pit hair, or gross, hairy, spindly legs. ****ing sick.

Have some respect for your fellow men and cover your **** up.

Reading that, it seems more like your problem than mine :p:

Mrd00d 02-19-2012 06:06 PM

I have to agree with Tore - men should never, ever wear sandals or shorts? I never thought I'd hear that opinion. Where I'm from, most guys won't wear pants in the summer. Or shoes/socks. Because it's about 110 degrees on average. I wear running shorts all summer.

Sparky 02-19-2012 09:18 PM

Not trying to escalate the argument, but I don't know any straight males who wear shorts. Just sayin :-/

WWWP 02-19-2012 09:31 PM

Seriously? I have never associated shorts with sexual orientation before. I have, however, associated shorts with the weather. Once again I feel out of touch with society.

Sparky 02-19-2012 09:34 PM

Rightfully so.

Do you think i let that bitch mother nature decide my style?

**** no, I'm rocking hawaiin shirts come rain, snow or hail.

Paedantic Basterd 02-19-2012 09:43 PM

That's one of the more baffling things I've seen said around here.

Sparky 02-19-2012 09:52 PM

I think you meant to say courageous. D:

These aren't so bad really...it's when women wear them with short shorts that I just don't understand.

As a female, I resent this. You would have to cut my feet off to get them in a pair of Uggs.

Why not? Do you really think a gay man would dress like that?

In order to play a role as polarizing as "The Dude", certainly. I'm sure it made him kinda uncomfortable, if he's anything like jaye davidson (the crying game) he immediately took off all his clothing as soon as the scene was finished.

i wear shorts all the time, cos of the weather, but they're usually knee-length

Aside from being in a very happy marriage (according to himself) with his wife (who really is a woman), there's just about nothing about him that sets off my gaydar. Neither do I feel like shorts are particularly popular with gay men.

I wear shorts when I'm swimming. If it's warm, I prefer to wear short pants, like these :

edit :

And I am not gay.

Tom Cruise is in an admittedly "happy" marriage, as well. It's unfortunate we still live in a society where actors are forced to conceal their true identity for risk of alienating their audience.

Whether or not a heterosexual man would wear those pants is questionable, but they are without a doubt very ugly.:(

I'm actually sure that quite a few of them do. Not all gay guys have good fashion sense.

I agree. It was just a lame jest referring to the highly fashion aware gay stereotype.

I like them when wearing them is practical. In summer, I'm often wading and looking for crabs in the shallows etc. But I could add that I'm generally not fashionable, nor interested in fashion, as the picture probably proves.

Bollocks. 3/4 combat shorts are essential festival wear.

This is kinda funny. My dad wears shorts at night time, OH NOES he's gay.
