Default For Headphone users, do Remasters sound much better than originals?

Hey guys, I've recently acquired a pair of Sony Headphones and while most music sounds great, I noticed that my Doors and Zeppelin CDs don't sound spectacular. I also realize that these CD's aren't the remastered versions so I was wondering, do remasters of old albums generally sound alot better through headphones? Are they worth the extra cash?

Speakers vs headphones shouldn't make a difference at the same quality. Its more likely that everything on your old system sounded equally bad, and the new headphones are letting the good production on some albums shine through.

Headphones price for price are generally better than speakers so that would make sense.

Like any production jobs there are good remasters & bad remasters.

There is no blanket statement to cover everything.

But do remasters make that much of a difference on Headphones?

Like I said it depends on the album. Do you really think a remastered album recorded on analogue equipment from 1962 is going to have the same quality as a remastered digitally recorded album recorded in 2005 just because it's 'remastered'.
