Best Avatar: Janszoon - his current avatar cracks me up, but he's had plenty of great ones over the past year. CanwllCorfe - always has nice dark and disturbing avatars, where on earth do you get these?

Sexiest Member (Female): Vanilla - The Queen of MB. Lateralus - really wish she would come back again.

Most Inane: Howard The Duck - he was a crazy dude but his quantity over quality style of posting seemed pointless. Franco Pepe Kalle - seriously dude.

Biggest Drama Whore: Dirty - his reappearances in various guises screams only one thing: he's in desperate need of love and attention,

Nicest Member: Vegangelica - I've never seen her say anything bad about anybody here. Always seems to give complements to everyone.

Best Debater: Tore - knows what the hell he's talking about and has no problems backing up his points. Janszoon - another smart guy, don't know how he has the patience to debate with some of the trolls that appear here every so often.

Worst Debater: Apart from myself, Pursuingchange - not sure where this guy crawled out of, but reading that thread he started had me rather amused. He might as well have been sticking his fingers in his ears and going "lalalalalalalalala".

Best Writer: Pedestrian - I've always liked her writing style especially in her journal. It's personal, concise and to the point. Trollheart - he's very dedicated to his journal and his writing style is always entertaining.

Smartest Poster: Tore - the guy's a friggin scientist. He has a good logical way of thinking which is something I admire.

Funniest Member: Urban Hatemonger - I'll repeat what Jackhammer said, I would give anything for a small percentage of his sense of humour. It seems to get lost on some members of the forum which is a bit of a shame. Janszoon - every time I see a new post from Janszoon I go for it straight away hoping to see another clever one-liner.

Best Mediator: Pedestrian and Mojopinuk - they seem to know how to get even the messiest of situations under control with a level head.

Biggest Troll: Hip Hop Bunny Hop - I don't think I need to explain this one. Clearly a guy with an agenda.

Most Obscure Music Taste: Canwll Corfe - seems to have a gift of finding the most obscure stuff there is. Definitely the person with the most unique taste.

Best Music Taste: Jackhammer - he'd happily listen to anything thrown his way, his range of taste is something to be admired. Minus points for not liking twee pop though ;) Bob - excellent taste in just about everything and never comes across as elite in any way unlike some members here. Sneer - we both have an almost identical taste in music which is awesome. Honourable mentions to Duga, Goofle and Pedestrian too.

Biggest Music Nerd: Urban Hatemonger - he lives and breathes it. Goofle11 - seems to be listening to music almost constantly and always looking for something new.

Best Thread Starter: Pedestrian - always has great ideas for threads, just a pity that not enough people participate *ahem*

Most Missed Poster: Howard The Duck - he was a crazy guy, and his contribution here has always been up for debate, but his presence is going to be missed. Farfisa - he was a great contributor to the forum for years it's sad that he just decided to quit. TheCunningStunt - this place need this guy back, funny fucker.

Thread of the Year: Last Album You Bought/Downloaded - yeah, no threads in particular really stood out for me this year, but you can't beat the old reliables.

Journal of the Year: 25 Albums You Should Hear Before the Moon Crashes into the Earth and We All Die by Janszoon deserves a round of applause. Also The Playlist of Life by Trollheart for the amount of work he puts into it. Exposes my journal as the piece of crap that it is.

Moderator of the Year: Pedestrian - despite not being online as much over the past few months she still manages to do a stellar job here. Janszoon - could pretty much moderate in his sleep at this stage (he probably even does).

Best New Member 2012: Rjinn and Plankton - the n00bs that stuck around. Both of them fitted seamlessly into the forum and it's almost like they've always been here.

Member of the Year 2012: Bob - has contributed brilliantly to this forum as a whole and is someone we should all look to as an example. Please mod this guy.

Biggest Lounge Lizard: Hermione - I honestly cannot recall the last time she posted in the music sections, which is a shame because she has a cool taste in post-punk and I wish she would share some stuff with us.

To carry on with what bob mentioned, it is a shame that there is no movie - centric category as bob, janszoon and loathsome pete repeatedly bang out great movie rec's that I always try to follow up on and respect their tastes massively. Exoskeletal too but as he works in a cinema he has a head start on the rest of us. We have to work harder to forage for films ;)

I'm thinking "Biggest film buff" and "Favourite forum drunk" ought to be on next year's list.

Other than our shared appreciation for Bob Dylan, I think the older country and bluegrass you mentioned earlier this year was very solid, also checked out Buckethead under your instructions and had quite an enjoyable night because of it. Just thought that the diversity of your tastes covers a lot of good music from many different styles.

Yeah, I think you are six hours ahead? So it would have been 3:30 pm then. GMT -6 because we are on standard time now. And I cannot sleep past 9, seriously. I have tried. Even if I've been up till the early hours of the morning, I have never woken up past 9 AM. But I don't get people who can sleep until 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, etc... I feel as though that's a waste of a day.

It's all good hehe guess it depends on perspective. Sure you might write about a lot of relatively mainstream styles but you address the lesser known artists or the songs that were never released to the masses, essentially your bringing light to the obscure side of the mainstream or something haha

Plus I seem to recall that mini review thread being all over the place both stylistically and geographically.
