One thing I miss about Howard the Duck was how funny he was. He was a real human being unlike others. He knew how to spark great debates and great conversations. He and I are in a weird way were alike. We were both considered weird and odd. Well I embrace that now as he is no longer here. I hope he is resting great in place. GOD be with him. Dieu benisse tout la monde.

Ah damn it! I was looking through some old threads and who do I see replying but hisself? Just seeing that superduck (woops! Nearly wrote something else there! Damn these fingers and my lack of touch-typing expertise!) avatar and the fact I would never see it again brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye.

Hey, at least we can all agree he left an indelible mark on the forum here...

I know that feeling. I saw a post of his a few days ago and couldn't help but think to myself "man...I really hope the afterlife has been good to him". :/

i've been going back and reading howard's posts. I'm actually surprisingly sad. i really wish i could have talked to him more, since this community means a lot to me. no matter what, even if i've never seen any of you in real life, i still think of you guys, even if i don't come here very often anymore. i remember his presence here being a welcome one. he was probably one of my favourite people here.

I always thought the guy was a lot more intelligent than he was given credit for and wish I had said that to him at the time. One of the interesting things about humanity is that a lot of the smarter people out there are treated as some of the more off-the-wall and bizarre characters because their thought process deviates from the norm, and Howard seemed no different on here and elsewhere. I'm not sure if that alone qualifies someone as smart, but I give him credit for being able to view things from an unpopular, or unknown, position in society and for expanding his horizons.

Yeah, was definitely a smart guy. Multi-lingual, partner in a law firm, studied abroad, knew enough about foreign music to make thousands of posts about all kinds of western bands—as I've said before, I'm sure his personality in person was a lot different from the persona he had here.

The one thing I will always remember is that he had a vast knowledge on music. He got ignored by a lot of people here when he would discuss music, but he knew albums, band members, and band history, and I don't think he got the recognition he deserved in terms of that.

One thing that has never left my mind about the guy is how impressed I was by his bold sense of style regarding business attire. I'm serious. I've never forgotten this pic he posted in October 2011..

I still think this thread should be closed now, out of respect.I don't agree with Urban's post entirely but I think this thread has drifted beyond condolences and sentimentality.

It shouldn't be closed. I'm sentimental about Howard's pink ensemble for real. Let's keep this thing open and celebrate Howard. (Is there some Irish custom of misunderstanding and hating me?)

He wore a pink suit to work (I assume that's his workplace) in a nation that puts gay people in prison and where the Islamic public take it upon themselves to cut off the hands of people accused of theft.

Howard was brave. And I like the fashion choice he made wherever that pic was taken.
