Hmmm, I guess it's none of our business.

By the way, I like your new username.

that's what I figured but oh well, it's out there for people to make what they will of it.
It seems fitting that Howard would be behind such a scheme, another one of his many wacky adventures.

I regret not learning more from the guy. He'd obviously been around and done and seen many things. I'm sure he had lots to pass on to others from his own experiences.

Cheers, I figured I'd get all festive.

Apparently this is Lim Choon Wee:

At least according to this site.

I think that this is my favorite part though, in response to a fraudulent email:

Dear Lim Choon Wee

Thank you for your email. I am interested in knowing more about this possible relative who lived in Kuala Lumpur. I am at present researching my family tree, and would very much like more details about this person. As to the possibility that I am this persons next of kin there is a possibility that some where down the family line we were related. Please provide me with more information and on how to proceed forward with this.

Yours faithfully

How do you know it was even Howard? It doesn't make sense - why would anyone use their real name in a scam?

Here is a disclaimer I found on a web page about Barister Lime Choon Wee from 419baiter.com .

It's important to note that any real people and / or legitimate organizations whose names and other details are mentioned in these scam e-mails have absolutely no connection with this scam!
Scammers never use their real names.

They frequently take on the identity of real people to help them convince you that they are genuine.

Well, yeah, but considering what a strange dude he was, it does make you think.

Can't imagine what it's like for the people close to him to deal with this so close to the holidays. It's still not sunk in completely for me, especially when I see this thread pop up again.

I don't really post on here anymore, but I got to give respect to the Ducer. He was a genuinely friendly guy, and would converse with anyone. Rip Duce.
