Corny or whatever I just trawled through some posts:

Just for you. He was an odd so and so at times but I did talk to him on IM a couple of times and he was a genuinely nice guy.

Enjoy:

****, that really sucks. Can't say that his posts were always the greatest, but he definitely was a presence to be remembered on MB. RIP Howard.

Passing away is my preferred term! December is holding all sorts of emotional turmoil for me and the passing of Howard only highlights that Winter really does seem to be the harbinger of doom.

Sorry to see you go, Il Duce. My bad for any hurtful things I may have said, but you were the kind of guy that had enough of a sense of humor to make a joke of it and continue being Il Duce no matter what.

So, I know that if you were here right now, you'd tell us not to be sad, because you're chillin' with all kinds of hot ladies in Il Duce heaven. Have fun, bro.

A Patrick Lim under the user name of Il Duce passed away of a heart attack. October 31st by the looks in other posts which was the day after his last post here. Not sure if it's the same Howard but pretty coincidental if it wasn't him. Does anyone know his Facebook page?
I'm pretty sure its him because he posts as il duce on music forums but I'm happy to ask my mate over there to check. I'm very sorry if it is true, its horrible hearing someone die from the forums no matter who it is. Rip.

Edit: so its true how awful. I personally found him a great laugh and won't forget him being on during the same hours as me every night! I hope he is happy whereever he is and it was a quick death. Xxx

Wow, this is horrible news. He added a lot of character here...however frustrating his one liner responses were. RIP, Patrick.

Out of curiosity, did you find out in a similar way as this? I would think most member deaths would go on as a mystery.

I left him a brief, but heartfelt message on the visitor message board. He was so funny.

Actually, yeah. I remember that 2 people were siblings who were in a car accident - their dad actually knew they posted there and made an account to tell us. One other person at another site had terminal cancer and a member who lived in the same city saw her obituary in the paper and shared it on the forum a few days later. One young woman's mother joined the forum to say her daughter committed suicide. And now, of course, I learned of Howard's passing with this thread.

The other three were more of a mystery but they were all connected to other members via Facebook and such. So that's how THOSE people found out, and then shared it with the rest of the board.

This makes me wonder now about other people who have not logged in here after quite some time...
