True. Michael seemed especially crazy in the documentary though, and had to be calmed down and consoled a lot. He kept working out, devoting his life to fighting, and still usually lost while his older brother beat down everybody pretty easily.
Oh, also, eventually there was a lot of money put up on these fights. So losing a fight meant losing your family's honor along with their money. Illegal bare-knuckle fighting is stressful.

Pikies in UK, knackers here. Or as you say, travellers if you want to be PC (though they sure as hell don't travel far!) --- used to be tons of them living across the road from us in the 80s. You'd have broken cars, mad dogs, half-dressed children, fights breaking out, people selling things aggressively --- have you ever tried telling these people no? Here's an example.

Knacker: Mornin' ta ya boss (everyone is boss, if you're male, missis if you're not) got these lovely duvets for sale.
Me: No thanks
Knacker: Only twenty euro! Sure how could ya go wrong?
Me: No thanks. I don't want any.
Knacker: Cost ya forty in the shops, boss!

Knacker: All right then, how about ten? Ten Euros (pronounced "yoo-ras")
Me; No. No thanks
Knacker: All right then, what have ya got in yer wallet? I'll sell ya one for whatever ya have in yer wallet
Me: No thank you I don't want a duvet
Knacker: Lovely quality boss. Ya won't get these in the shops! (After telling me previously I will, but will pay twice his original asking price)
Me: No thanks
Knacker: What'll ye give me then for one o' these?
Me: Dont want one.
DOOR SLAMS SHUT
Knacker: (from outside door): FIVE Yooras then, boss! Only five!
Eventually he walks away; I hear him going through the same spiel next door.

If only they WOULD travel!

Did I teach you that?! that's what we call them here but they won't like it much if you call them that to their face. The gypsys that stay around here are wankers, they think they own the place and they literally get away with everything. I went to my mates 18th about 4 years ago and when the party was over the gypsys came out of the pub half of the venue and several boys from the party were followed on their way home and attacked. My friends boyfriend got a broken eye socket out of it and one of the bigger guys was barely recognisable and spent a few days in hospital. Police words were "by tomorrow they will be in Manchester" so basically "we are not going to do anything".

I don't know if you guys know about this so called "game" Knockout but here is an example of it gone wrong.


Knockout is a stupid "game" where guys run up an assault someone then run away. Trying to knock out the person with one punch.

Yeah I've heard about this. What a complete wanker.

It's only a matter of time before someone falls, bangs their head and is killed. I just can't get my head around how stupid this fad is. He gets filled in nicely though.

Exterminate all ppl who play tthat dumb gm... someobe did die recently. Some older guy at a bus stop and the kid is gonna likely serve life.. will link whwn not on mobile. Would love one of these pieces of shiit to try this with me so they can catch an ass beating or better yet some steel thru their chest
