Often people use the term "Marriage is an institution between one man and one woman"

It is easily the weakest. Who says who marriage is to be defined by? It seems to me that if the straight community cannot show a good reason to deny the institution of marriage to *** people, it shouldn't be denied. And such simple, nebulous declarations are hardly a good reason. They're really more like an expression of prejudce than any kind of a real argument. The concept of not denying people their rights unless you can show a good reason to do so is the very basis of the American ideal of human rights.

Just my, and some other peoples opinions

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)

^ well said. To add on that, i find it funny that more people dont make the connection between denying ***s rights and denying blacks rights earlier on in history. now i'm not saying that ***s have it as bad as blacks did, because they certainly do not. but americans in general pride themself on being a fair and equal place in the world in which to live, so shouldn't they live up to that in regards to this issue?

When a State Constitution puts that as a defenition, unless the State's constitution is changed then it would be illegal for marriage. National Government is supreme to everything in America. It doesn't matter what a state does. That's why you don't see the states taxing the national government. It's called Federalism, or your goverment if you live in the US. So the national government has an important decision to make.

for the next US President i would just say anyone apart from G.W. Bush! the guy has less brain cells than a turd and has less political sense than a communist. you may ask why im replying to this assuming im british, well the President of the usa is the most powerfull person on the planet, and when that individual happens to be bush, that just scares me!!

Looks like you fit all the qualifications of being the next president. Stick with U.K. politics, if that.
