Nappy valley/ baked bean village = Government housing area

Do you ever hear people saying "quit flapping your gums" to people who won't shut up? My dad is a Kiwi and he says this all the time. But I'm not sure if it's something he heard growing up or while living there or whatever. It's a hilarious phrase.

Heard it a bit with the older generation, bit mostly you hear "you're dribbling too much sh*t, shut it"
