I feel like this thread was to celebrate the beginning of a new blog and not to argue about what could be different!

On that note,

I think you're a really good writer, Exo, and I'm excited to see if you review any movies I may know!
Of all of your favorite movies, I've only seen Spirited Away and I've heard of a few others so I would imagine you have a good taste in movies!
What kind of movie reviews are you hoping to do? I know you said ones directed by those you respect but are you going to review only the deeper, less talked about films?
Are you going to do the before and after of those you've already reviewed the trailers of? I'll definitely be following this thread since I don't have a WordPress!

Woah, this got crazy. I was drunk all day yesterday so I didn't get a chance to log on to MB so I'm going to try to clear everything up mostly with Herm, Jan, and Engine.
  • I'm not going to use Tumblr as of right now. While I want to reach a bigger audience (anybody who likes film regardless of age) I want my website to look user friendly. I found the template I'm using to be the best and I like the interface that Wordpress employs. It's easy for me to use. I'm actually a pretty novice tech guy so easy interfaces are ideal for me.
  • I'm also making this website for personal reasons. I've spent a good number of years now lounging around wasting time and not doing anything productive. This is giving me something to do and build and eventually once I get more content on here and find my specific voice I'll try to spread it to more people. This is really self therapy right now. Plus, now I'll have work to point to whenever somebody wants to see how I write which is what I want to do in some form for a living.
  • Herm, I'm going to keep your ideas in mind for the future because I'd be lying if I said I didn't want as many people to read as possible. It's just not a priority right now.
  • Eventually I'm going to get a twitter and facebook to go along with this. Ive never had either before so I'm going to have to figure those out as well.

Thanks for reading you guys. I've been busy lately so I haven't been writing. I haven't see a movie in about four days which is extremely odd for me. I'm going to head out and try to see Frances Ha and The Stories We Tell this week and if I can't I'll be reviewing some sh*t I'll be watching at home so check it every now and then. I'll have the last day I updated in my signature so it's easy to tell when I've written anything.

I'm going to be reviewing anything I can get my hands on. Old, new, weird, bad, silly, funny, foreign, scary...I'll try to do it all. That's usually how I approach watching movies anyway so I'll literally be reviewing anything I watch. I'll try to throw in some essays on films that I already have seen a thousand times as well. Any significant movie news will be written about as well as interesting trailers or pictures I come across. The reviews are going to be written in my own voice. They'll be "f*cks" and "sh*ts" and bad metaphors. I didn't want to sound like every other film writer when describing a movie. I'm going to write it like I'd be describing it to you in person. I think it goes over better. Nobody goes "Oh dude how was that movie?" and gets "Well I found it shallow and pedantic...ect." I want to sound real. If that makes sense.

Should be fun.
