I know everyone loathes my contributions to these types of threads but I think

it's pretty much nailed on the head here. Apart from the few people that take it upon themselves to just be ****s to new members, I think places like Redditt and FourChan have killed the smaller forums like this.

But I don't think the forum has been as quiet recently, as you're saying Vanilla. And I do agree that if it has, summer is a big contributing factor.
