It does seem quite bad right now. I mean essentially only three of the moderators are active.
Although I'd like to add that this year has had an influx of very great new members.

I don't think its that bad. We just don't talk about music like we did when I started. And no one is going to get the running jokes.

or, you know, when a person writes something, and then is attacked by another long-standing member - seemingly without reason - by the new poster who doesn't know the back story of why its happening, its a little off-putting.

Also, there's a few people here who are complete ****s because they have an emotional void in their lives they are too scared to fill.

Actually I think the gifs have tapered off recently. I think the main issue with new members is that they tend to show up sometime around fall and winter, I guess when school starts and the weather gets bad. We've always been roughly as douchey, even douchier in the past actually. A lot of the forum wars have simmered down over the years just because the people involved either got tired of the same arguments or just stopped talking to the other people except for mindless chit chat every now and again. And as for Janz's point about forums dying, well there's not much we can do about that.

gif wars are freaking stupid. A well placed gif, and a killer comment are 100,00 times better. Every time, all the time.
