India is not considered part of the Far East according to several sources I just checked. Nor does the Library of Congress map of the Far East include India:

So India is where the middle east ends then. I always thought it was considered part ofbthe far east since it borders China. Oh well, I was always a C student anyways but a happy one regardless

If India is not part of the Far East, what it is then? I would not consider it as a part of the Middle East, since if somebody says Middle East, I think countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan or Turkmenistan, not India.

India is neither middle east or far east, but it is an Asian country, as are the countries of the middle east and far east. Not that it matters, it's all labels at the end of the day.

I think Afghanistan is not considered Middle East but South Asia. So India is probably South Asia too. I've read that in newspaper reports but I don't know if it is an official designation.

Always considered India/Bangladesh/Pakistan to be South Asia tbh.
