Government Health warning on CC

I'm not going to mention the brand name, but you know which it is. The fizzy drink that millions of people can't live without apparently.

Another of life's great mysteries is how something that that tastes so revolting (I last tasted the crap 20 years ago) to the point that anything you eat for the next 3 hours also tastes like it, is so popular.

The downside of course, is (obesity aside) it is the trigger for a whole generation of forthcoming osteoperosis sufferers in their early to mid thirty's.

This drink has a knack of stripping the calcium from the human bones, making them brittle.

Surely such a thing should have a government health warning on the can like tobacco?

TheBig3 12-21-2013 05:59 AM

Amen brother. You know what else should have a warning on it?

Facebook.

Janszoon 12-21-2013 06:00 AM

You've just described how I feel about coffee, but somehow all these people keep drinking it and enjoying it.

 Don't forget tattoo shops and brand name clothing - they should have warnings as well.

Paul Smeenus 12-21-2013 11:29 AM

Thanks for the news that I've only been hearing about for 45 years.

Step away from the podium before someone gets hurt. Coffee is the nectar of the gods.

I heard that English scientists have discovered a virus that causes people to fat. It isn't the food that makes us fattubalards, it is a virus. And they predict since Great Britain is an island the whole island will be obsess in a few decades. Thinks about it, if you are 30 stones you got another problem other then the fizzy drinks.

And you are his spokesperson?

The issue of poor nutrion, obesity and consumer ignorance is absolutely bang up to date.

Does it worry you if I am?

And the issue of Coke being bad for you isn't something that's just come up. It was around when I was a kid in the 80s so your breaking news isn't exactly new

You should be thankful there's no government warnings on f*ckwittery or you'd be history

Who said anything about breaking news?

This is highly relevent today. A bit like avoiding being run over on the road.

If you bother to read my opening post, I stated a fact (yes, a fact) about the consequences of ignoring a product like CC.

What you personally drink or allow your kids to drink is none of my business or concern.

But it most certainly should be yours.

Someone once used the phrase 'don't die of ignorance'.

Well Cheese, thankfully there are huge differences between us.

There's no law about being ignorant or having no social awareness or showing a lack of concern for others.

I like you, Oxy. Facebook, tattoos, clothing covered in logos, soft drinks; I don't understand the appeal of any of those things either, and I think pondering their popularity is an interesting avenue. You remind me of a modern day Diogenes, laughing at the madness masquerading as common sense. I salute you.

So, Paul Smeenus. You didn't actually have an education then?

Of course he did. No-one who hasn't had lengthy training could produce a piece on MS Paint like that above.

(Your mum has smaller tits though)

Grogsy 12-23-2013 08:49 PM

I think Oxy is very 'tongue in cheek' and can't understand why some members are working themselves into a lather over his/her posts

Peace everybody!
