Good Manners.

Just interested to see if anyone thinks that good manners are important. And if anyone has any examples of good manners that they might care to share.

This could be enlightening on a forum like this where foul language goes unpunished.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-29-2013 05:44 AM

We have a swear filter, what more do you fucking want?

And that, my friends, is the contribution from the big man who can close a topic because it describes punk music as sounding like a dish washing machine.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-29-2013 05:50 AM

No I closed the thread on a topic because it describes rap music as sounding like a dish washing machine.

Any threads that are there just to diss a form of music are closed as they are only there to antagonise people.

Taxman 12-29-2013 05:51 AM

Your problem is that you fail to differentiate between attempting to antagonise and providing a platform for views that you don't particularly approve of.

No problem, just bleeding obvious.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-29-2013 05:56 AM

well considering your 'evidence' was a total work of fiction from an organisation that doesn't exist I think I had every right to close it.

Maybe people should google the 'International Music Protection Agency' and see how many results come up.

No sense of humour either. Bet you are a gas at festivals.
Not everything is on your search engine!

I have no problem with you wanting to start your own organisation to say something is crap.
Just do it on your own bandwidth.

Good manners and etiquette are absolutely important. To be quite honest though, I think you seem to be lacking them.

I see. You mean a bit like some of your comments on the sexual experiences thread?

Plenty of good manners and etiquette?

phew I was worried... :shycouch:

There is a difference between manners and etiquette.... I know what you are thinking they are the same thing...Hear me out, manners consists of "yes mam", "no sir" please and thank you. Etiquette would consist of knowing which fork to use, how to properly spoon soup into your face hole, how to hold your napkin, no elbows on the table etc....

What does that have to do with anything in this thread? It's not like I talk about that stuff at the dinner table. You're just baiting me, which is actually against the rules here.

Perhaps I'm one of those Oxy's who doesn't like being lectured to about manners by someone like you?

No offence, just pointing it out.

Sounds like that's too bad for you since she's one of the people responsible for enforcing the rules here.

So what? My life hardly depends on this forum.

For what it's worth, I think the place needs a shake up in terms of the moderators' bias. Its interesting that foul and indecent posts go unattended by the moderators, and yet any attempts towards intelect and orginal thinking is seen as a threat.

Still, not my prob.

Wait whuuutt.... :banghead: Seriously just in BD's defense, first off she is one of the classiest chicks, I have met in a while dude, she handles situations that need to handled with discretion and care if that isn't classy then I dunno what is... Secondly, what ever someone writes in a thread that is full of other people talking about the same thing should probably stay within that thread. For example, the sexual experience thread. Anything said in there should be kept there, (like Las Vegas...) I rarely go in there because I don't wanna know who is one knuckle deep in The Batlord's ass, or that Mojo likes a Cleveland steamer from time to time... I don't wanna know that **** so I am in other parts of the forum... Yet when it spills over into the rest of the lounge I don't judge... (Judgmental people can be some rude mother****as just sayin)

So to sit there and bait someone with something they said in a thread designed for that topic is ridiculous....

Didn't realise you were all so sensitive.

RoxyRollah 12-29-2013 07:10 AM

People around here aint that sensitive, but you gotta remember that most of the people have know each other a long long time, and they care about one another to some degree, and you can't attack a beloved member and think its gonna end well for you...

Maybe you should have tried lurking before posting to see what was up....you know scope out the situation...

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-29-2013 07:12 AM

Well now I know the orgins of the word Oxymoron

I seldom lurk.

I was told this was a decent forum.

Thought I would post my original again (above) so you can see how successful I have been in getting a grown up debate moving (ho ho).

Oh my dear I am shaking in my bloody boots. What is this? New ****ing York or something.

What an attitude.

Kick ass forum? What the hell is that?

FETCHER. 12-29-2013 07:20 AM

I pride myself on having good manners, saying please, thank you, excuse me etc. I think it is vitally inportant and is what the younger generation of Scotland are missing, manners and respect because their parents let them away with murder. Would be a proper sore arse they got if it was my kid.

The idea wasn't to have you shaking, you simple minded little hobgoblin, it was to enlighten you that, if you had maybe lurked for a day you might have seen who was important to whom on the board... And you might not have taken that thrashing you got from people...:banghead:

I respect the fact that you are a troll and that's how you get off, by being an inflammatory bean curd...Just respect the fact that I'll call you out if you start some ****...

I was not lecturing you. However, I do think it's funny that you're moaning about a lapse in good manners, yet you aren't exactly setting an example of good decorum yourself. That is just my opinion.

Maybe there is a different definition of manners where you are, across the pond. I doubt it, though.
