How are you celebrating New Years?

See Title Shitbirds.

I think I will be going downtown at my cities big event where fireworks will happen and a ball drop. Maybe Hooters afterwords. I see all the advertised NYE parties and stuff at clubs and whatnot that are like 100 bucks a ticket...No thanks.

Still keeping my eyes open for other options. How about you guys?

Plankton 12-30-2013 11:41 AM

Having a NYE party at my place.

Makers Mark
Rumchata
UV Cake
Cpt Morgan
Lots of various beer flavorings

Keys will be relinquished at the door upon entry.

Taxman 12-30-2013 11:43 AM

As usual, we'll bang away some fireworks all night long

Paul Smeenus 12-30-2013 12:04 PM

Tickets | Single Game Tickets / Thunderbirds vs Kamloops Blazers at ShoWare Center, Kent, WA on 12/31/2013 7:05 pm | Seattle Thunderbirds

Goofle 12-30-2013 12:42 PM

Painting the town red with two of my work colleagues.

Burning Down 12-30-2013 01:19 PM

No NYE parties for me this year... I think those days are long gone lol. It's just going to be me and my boyfriend. We're going skating outside, and it's supposed to snow so maybe it will be all romantic and shit. Probably also go for a nice dinner before that. Then we'll come home and have a nice night inside.

Other people probably think that's boring but honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

DarkSkies 12-30-2013 01:27 PM

No big plans for me. After all the Christmas/birthday festivities, I need a night home.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I posted that we're going to a hockey game

Nice one, will be the same for me but I never go out on NY anyway.

Welcome btw.

Thanks :)

I have been out some the past couple years, but I have to say NY isn't usually a big celebration for me.

Frownland 12-30-2013 01:55 PM

I'm going to a party with the same people I did New Years with last year who I haven't seen in a year. There ought to be lots of drinking, smoking, and shenanigans to be had, I'm looking forward to it.

Haha! Hockey is fun, so not boring at all!

I just don't know how people can do all the partying and **** like that, all night long. I'm not a huge party person at all, so it seems kind of pointless to me. I never have a good time.

Drink, dance, chat up some hot looking strangers. What is there not to love about partying and ****?

Doesn't work out too well when you're a socially crippled blackout drunk like me.

Depends on the party you go to.

Drink the non alcoholic champagne but not much can help you with being a square(socially crippled).

Moss 12-30-2013 02:17 PM

My band is playing a gig up in Vail, Colorado. Free drinks all night!

No, socially crippled came first.

I'm absolutely fine leaving that world behind, I assure you.

Then who will take Becky to see Hockey games. Don't be so hard on yourself. Life isn't that serious.

Clubbing and raves are not exactly my scene, I guess. When I was 19 and old enough to drink legally I used to go with my friends, but not anymore. I always tried to flirt with guys but falling flat most of the time, haha!

I'll go to bars for drinks and stuff though, and I've been chatted up by guys at those places, even with my boyfriend right beside me.

But yeah, this year it's just going to be our night alone.

I'm talking about the party life. Going to hockey games is exactly the kind of activity that I enjoy now.

And I'm nowhere close to being hard on myself in here.

Key 12-30-2013 02:24 PM

Working all day and coming home to relax and sleep like I usually do on a daily basis.

Since I used to go out alone most of the time. Bars are the worse place to go. Everyone always seemed paired up and in groups. Anytime I would try to strike up a conversation I would get interrupted by their mates. I rather go to clubs and raves. Easy to just go grab my drink and hit the dance floor.

That reminds me of a few months ago, when I was at a friend's party and was standing alone in the corner (didn't feel like mingling at that moment), and this guy came up to talk. He was clearly interested while I was trying to exaggerate my non-interest. I even told him I wasn't single. Then my boyfriend comes back with some drinks, and clearly puts his arm around me and says "Hey man, what's up?" The guy was visibly crushed, but he obviously didn't pick up on my signals.

Tristesse 12-30-2013 04:00 PM

Will probably wander around winchester town desperately trying to get served somewhere

Mojo 12-30-2013 04:25 PM

House party.
Good mates.
Lots of booze.
Drunk.
Sick.
Home.
Bed.
Wake up.
Breakfast?
Ugh, no. Sick.
Hangover.
Football.

The usual.

Jukeboxfin 12-30-2013 06:07 PM

Hehehe... you said hardon.

I've had many NYE's where I just spent a quiet night at home, especially when my daughter was very young and I can understand the not drinking thing and going to a Hockey game. Not a damn thing wrong with that at all. Now days I have quite a bit more freedom, and in order to do this NYE's celebration responsibly, we chose to have everyone come to us. That way I can get as buzzed as I want and don't have to worry about all the amateurs on the road. The only drawback is cleaning up after our guests when they finally leave in the morning.

My plans to go to my friend's cabin have been cancelled due to the lake not being frozen over enough to snowshoe across. I didn't develop a backup plan in advance so I think I'm just going to go out to the ocean and sneak onto the beach around midnight.

I'm going to a Mad Men themed party at a bar. Free drinks/apps. Dancing. If I go home alone, I'll join you, JD, as your NY's is later than mine.

Rez, Sorry man. But if that woman in the purple shirt from your Ghetto Xmas party is around, send her up. I think I'm in love.
