Aren't you from Dublin? There must be loads of landmarks there.

I am, yeah. I suppose there are. You have Trinity College, for one, where you can look at the Book of Kells

the beautiful Garden of Remembrance

A few more...

The Gardiner Expressway, a raised highway along the lake shore into the downtown core. It's an absolute eyesore, traffic is usually bad, and it's crumbling right down to the rebar.

OCAD University - The premier art and designe college in Canada. This is one of their buildings (it's a small school). Locals call it the "pencil box" and I can't decide if it's an eyesore or a great architectural and engineering accomplishment. Perhaps both.

Maple Leaf Gardens... now practically gutted and most of it is a supermarket now.

My vote for the ugliest, plainest landmark building in Toronto goes to the US Embassy. Sorry, 'Muricans.

It's being replaced by a tunnel. The weird thing is that, as ugly as it is, one of the best views of downtown Seattle is from the northbound upper deck of the Viaduct.

Here's a local hillside letter that I can see (and walk to) from my house. I hike up there often and it is one hell of a hike, I'll tell you that. It's a great way to wear out my young dog and it's something of a party zone for me at this point.
