It's funny. This state is kind of defined by how close you are to pretty much anything while also being completely different. 30 minutes to NYC. 30 mins to the beach. 30 mins to skiing. 30 mins to dairy farms. Applies to where I grew up.

My hometown is in Norvin Green State Forest...

Yet a fifteen minute drive and you're in downtown Paterson...

It's weird.

Scenery looks nice. I drove the NY Passageway (whatever it's called) on my way to Maine one time. The "You're Five Minutes from NJ" sign was as close as I got, but you could see the city from the Interstate.

EDIT: The traffic sucked balls.
