How to have lengthy conversations with a girl?

I know this thread has nothing to do with music, but I am studying music in college, and I have a new classmate in school. She is a vocalist singing mezzo alto. Her name is Jessica and she was once in university studying Fine Arts: Visual Arts and she dropped it because the history part is too difficult for her. I'm also going soon to university. Then she moved to my college because her real passion is in music. Later on she will study again in university taking Psychology. She has a sweet tooth. She likes M&Ms and Skittles, but she also has a salty tooth. She likes coffee and green tea. Her father is Italian and her mother is Mexican. I'm just writing this down because I already talked to her. Overall, she is a beautiful babe. I plan to take her out on dinner next week using the money I have on pay day. The only problem is that I don't have a lot of ideas for conversation. How do you have lengthy conversations with a girl? I know some guys can talk random stuff to girls for hours. I want to learn. I am listening to Metallica's Kill Em' All while typing this. So rock on! :band: :band: :drummer:

Is this a relationship advice website now? Just keep asking her questions about her and let her ask questions about you, I guess. People love to talk about themselves.

2 pieces of advice.

1. Girls like nothing more than hearing the sound of their own name.
2. Let her talk, just nod & agree, she's think you're sensitive and a good listener.

butthead aka 216 01-15-2014 05:44 PM

Just keep askin follow up questions and interrupt to be witty from time to time

Moss 01-15-2014 06:53 PM

Spend the whole time discussing whether the Beatles or the Beach Boys are better.

TheBig3 01-15-2014 06:57 PM

Why wouldn't you talk to her like anyone else?

DriveYourCarDownToTheSea 01-15-2014 07:07 PM

Does she play an instrument? Do you? If so, ask her if she'd like to "jam" sometime.

Woman I dated the most in my younger days was a flute player (and a very good one, too). I played guitar. We met in college and a related internship, but we became friends when we started playing instruments together. Best one was "Scarborough Fair," sounds really nice with a flute accompanying a guitar.

Four words to live by: Can't win, don't try

butthead aka 216 01-15-2014 07:13 PM

Talk about religion politics abortion etc

Nothing is certain but if you want to learn how to talk to girls, one thing you should definitely do is join a nerdy internet forum and get advice from its members. Blast some Metallica for extra inspiration.

YorkeDaddy 01-15-2014 07:14 PM

If you can't have a natural conversation with her, she's not the girl for you.

neardeathexperience 01-15-2014 07:15 PM

I think you should just open up the conversation with so what bands do you like and see where it leads. Elaborate on what she is saying and offer your own opinions which should lead to more conversation then compliment her on what she is wearing.......

With any luck you may just get a second date with her to further your conversations.

Piano and flute sounds great too.

Read up on Italy, tell her what a great place it is, and how someday you would like to travel there. She'll transfer her feeling of security of her father onto you. Then you're in like Flynn.

dress code:
  • Don't wear Crocs.
  • Don't wear pointy dress shoes.
  • Don't wear loafers without socks.
  • Don't wear square toe dress shoes.
  • Don't wear cargo pants with duffel bags for side pockets.
  • Don't wear a white shirt if you go to an Italian or Mexican restaurant.
  • And above all... don't wear that Metallica t-shirt you owned half you life.

Yikes, no pointy shoes? Don't be a square, man!

yeah the pointy dress shoes and square toe dress shoes part need to be taken off of that list but I agree with everything else.

Frownland 01-15-2014 10:40 PM

I disagree with Nea's post too. You shouldn't be wearing shoes at all.

might be the drugs and alcohol but this is the best thread mb has had in years.

Just be your real self around this Jessica babe and that my friend is 100% pure poetry.

Does she like to eat M&Ms and Skittles concurrently or eat only one of them separately at different snack times? I think Reese's Peices and M&Ms could be eaten concurrently at the same time no problem - something like tiny miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Stop calling her "babe"... you're going to make him nervous if you call her a "babe" building her up in his mind like that... he won't be able to cope.

They can't be avoided on boots but honestly you don't want to pick her up looking like Peter Pan by wearing pointy tip shoes.

ladyislingering 01-16-2014 01:38 AM

How to talk to a girl for as long as you want:

Become a medical examiner!

http://ferdyonfilms.com/grizzly-coroner.jpg

They can't run away!
They can't sigh and roll their eyes over your feeble attempts to win their approval!
They can't say no!
They won't friendzone you!
YOU CAN TALK TO AS MANY CHICKS AS YOU WANT!

Psy-Fi 01-16-2014 04:35 AM

^

The Batlord 01-16-2014 08:58 AM

You could always prove your devotion by showing her this thread where you've talked in detail about her on the internet to perfect strangers. Chicks dig that.

Screen13 01-16-2014 09:37 AM

Come on!!! Everyone knows that Isaac's got the answer! Asking a Music Forum instead of Chef?
It helps that if you actually play the keyboards, have an orchestra back you up, sing with Soul, and have a record contract...Ha! Ha!

Take it away!

Or if that does not work, follow ladyislingering's advice, get the Ph.D. and go Pro!

About all of that stuff about boots and Visual Arts...see if she's into Cosplay! (Joking on that, but considering what's going on today it might work!)

All kidding aside, good luck!

Janszoon 01-16-2014 10:05 AM

Just talk about yourself for an extended period of time and don't let her speak. The ladies love that.

The Batlord 01-16-2014 10:07 AM

And pick your nose. Girls love to know that you care about maintaining your appearance.

And pull your nose hairs right out if you notice them!

Don't forget to put them right up to your eyes so you can make sure they are indeed nose hairs. You never know what might be up there.

FETCHER. 01-16-2014 10:34 AM

Ask her if you can touch her in her special place. She'll like that.

The Batlord 01-16-2014 10:36 AM

And if she says no start crying. Chicks dig sensetive men.

WWWP 01-16-2014 10:37 AM

Is it mandatory that every newcomer post that band thing? Did I miss that when I didn't read the rules when I joined or?

That's what happens when you're a rebel.

You obviously didn't read the rules. You're supposed to post it twice.

Is the guy who started this thread even reading the replies?

WWWP 01-16-2014 10:19 PM

No, he's having a lengthy conversation.
