Steve Hoffman Forums - has anyone else been banned for no reason?

I was browsing the site as usual this morning, and suddenly I received the following message:

"You have been banned for the following reason: SCum."

When I signed up for a new account, I posted a few messages, and within minutes I was banned again (same message).

I rarely posted but had been a member for a decade.

There seems to be plenty of other people who have had surprise bannings. Maybe it's what he does for fun.

Damn, that is eye opening. I guess I never spent that much time there.

I remember Hoffman working on Blue Note reissues years ago, and right around that time he began to trash the original engineer (& legend) Rudy Van Gelder. When I questioned his motives, my posts were wiped out.

I remember looking at Steve Hoffman forums one time. When I saw a thread where people were tediously arguing over which Eagles remasters sounded the best I got the hell out of there.
