That sounds dangerously close to actually listening to Jane's Addiction and/or Guns 'N' Roses and I want no part of either of those bands.

There is something seriously wrong with you.

Here's what you should do to resolve that:
  1. Stop listening to the radio.
  2. Stop living in the late 80s.

1.) It's decent background noise
2.) Tell that to my ****ty rock station that feels the need to play GNR next to nineties Metallica next to Pearl Jam next to Linkin Park next to Three Days Grace.

If you even care (notice the last section in bold):

Quote:
The origins of the phrase are somewhat obscure, as is so often the case with idioms.
The Oxford English Dictionary’s entry suggests it was first recorded in the sense in which we now understand it only around the middle of the nineteenth century. The first appearance in the sense of “to have (at least) as much as one can handle” recorded in the OED is in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, which was published in 1843. I’ve found some examples from the previous century, but their meaning is ambiguous.
That’s because the expression goes back at least to the early 1600s in a related form, “to have all one’s work cut out”. As you suggest, it was borrowed from tailoring, but in that first figurative sense it meant to prepare or plan an activity, to get everything organised before starting work, as a good tailor would. It later went through a period in which it meant that someone else cut out your work for you, that is, gave you something to do.
The image behind the current sense is that of having some assiduous assistant cutting the cloth at such a rate that it’s a struggle to keep up
Also, I don't have random thoughts in the shower because I am too busy enjoying Pandora But I liked reading the responses here.

once i thought i had a great idea during a long shower. i thought... why dont we just save money on gas by customizing our vehicles with larger gas tanks but then i realized that would not affect the gas price in the slightest

I concentrate purely on milking my member in the shower.

For some reason I just can't whack off standing up. So I almost never do it in the shower. Gotta be laying down for that. Even sitting up doesn't work. Needless to say clean up can be a bitch.
