A friend of a friend. I know that doesn't sound the most reliable of sources, but he is a well-placed security expert and has been an Al-Qaeda expert for some time. He has warned my friend who works in London to steer clear of the City until Tuesday.

He is not the sort of person to **** about over something so serious, hence why I would rather take the precautions.

Today's attacks were not planned to murder huge numbers, but to cause chaos among the London transport system. And it succeeded spectacularly.

One day? If they wanted to **** over transport they could have done better than that. I mean, when they were giving the press interviews the Tube guy said that it was already fine to use, and the only reason they weren't was because they were still finding bombs and didn't want to risk it.

yes... the only way to stop terrorism is to find a way to reconcile these people... going in and blowing up innocent families only serves to heighten the anger they have towards us....

But seeing as both 'sides' (I hate saying it like that, just reminds me of primary school arguments) are equally as pissed off at each other, they're gonna retaliate... Not sort things out.

"Men ought either to be indulged or utterly destroyed, for if you merely offend them they take vengeance, but if you injure them greatly they are unable to retaliate, so that the injury done to a man ought to be such that vengeance cannot be feared" is their logic.

They blew up a suspicious package on a bus on Princes Street in Edinburgh last night at 5:30. My ex catches her bus home from work on Princes Street at around 5:30. Thankfully she left work an hour early last night to go home and play The Sims.

I expect there will be an awful lot of suspicious packages turning up in the next few days, people will be looking out for them everywhere.

^ there are so many stories like that...like in london, this guy got off the 'bomb bus' cos he wanted a newspaper....about 5 minutes later...well, yeah. People just missed it, it seems like people i know, their family or friends just missed it. Missed their train, Meeting was cancelled, left early....

Following this terrible atrcocity that is all too common these days all around the world,
I did notice a ray of light during BBC coverage of the aftermath outside Algate Tube station. There were several community leaders from major faiths of the world. Standing together side by side with genuine grief and strength.
I have faith, but do not follow any religion. To see Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, Christians and other faiths all standing together can only help if we continue to work as one, and be tolerant of others.
