London people

Hope that nobody who posts on the board has been affected by the blasts in London today, and that you and your families are all safe.

Sneer 07-07-2005 08:57 AM

thankfully we werent involved directly with it. but i feel so sympathetic for people that were. these bastards have no respect for humanity- the cowardly act of detonating bombs simultaneously during the rush hour proves that. but the english and indeed all decent human beings are stronger then them. london is a fantastic city and we wont let some moronic terrorists get the better of us. london will put on a fantastic olympic games in 7 years and stand tall. *puffs out chest and waves cross of st. George aloft*

dog 07-07-2005 09:00 AM

all the channels here (australia) are news reports on whats happening, really awful what happened

ArtistInTheAmbulance 07-07-2005 09:02 AM

But to be expected really... Still, thats not justifying it in any way. Yeah, my thoughts are with whoever was affected by it all.

Sneer 07-07-2005 09:07 AM

40+ people dead so far- if and when the perpetrators are caught a death penalty deserves to be reinstated here . but its been coming for a while. london was always the second big target after new york because of our allegiance with the USA. i find it ridiculous that some people are accusing the french. a country we have political ties with and a western super power would not be responsible for this..even regarding the fact the english and french hate eachother, its just not feesible. takes a lot more then this to bring down london.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 07-07-2005 09:08 AM

People are accusing the french now?! Sweet Jesus, its any chance they can get...

Sneer 07-07-2005 09:12 AM

yep, frenchman jealous of our olympic success is the new theory. and to make it more acceptable there adding the fact of them being french-muslim. next it'll be president bushes cronies being responsible because blair slept with his wife. i dont care whos to blame- all i care about is the london people and that whoever done it gets what they deserve.

Krosstika 07-07-2005 09:27 AM

Yeah...about 6 explosions in the likes of Aldgate st,Liverpool st,Kings Cross and i cant quite remember the rest but the death toll is continuing to rise......

Words cant explain my unforsaken Hatred towards the low life zit ridden outcast scum that was responsible for this!...and i mean that, bring back 'public exicution'!!!

all the innocent lives they've now taken, for there poxy jihad!?
Im sitting here safley in Ipswich,Suffolk at the moment, but it still hit's where it hurts...almost all of london is cut off!
...But hey we've been through the likes of bombings during the Blitz....and i dont think the likes of a mere worthless terrorist can break british moral

Sneer 07-07-2005 09:35 AM

exactly, though they've discovered bombs in sutton (less than a mile from me), wallington (1 1/2 from me) and brighton. so i feel a tad insecure.

Krosstika 07-07-2005 09:39 AM

SH!T....really...thats bad!

Sneer 07-07-2005 09:52 AM

their finding bombs everywhere. their aim was to cause wide-spread devastation.

Krosstika 07-07-2005 10:08 AM

Hah,Well i guess the sad f*cks failed on that clause eh!?So far its only in london bombs have been exploding!
...and another thing there now talking about is Osama Bin Laden!? there's these experts saying taking him down will bring the end to his pityfull band of vermin! bollocks they'll just carry on killing for there pathetic jihad war.
all bin laden cares about i think is that he remains the current hidingseek world champion 2001,2002,2003,2004,and now 2005 *the bastard*

Fenixpunk 07-07-2005 10:16 AM

This is the full text of the "terrorists" statement.

"In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate, may peace be upon the cheerful one and undaunted fighter, Prophet Muhammad, God's peace be upon him.

Nation of Islam and Arab nation: Rejoice for it is time to take revenge against the British Zionist Crusader government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is now burning with fear, terror and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters.

We have repeatedly warned the British Government and people. We have fulfilled our promise and carried out our blessed military raid in Britain after our mujahideen exerted strenuous efforts over a long period of time to ensure the success of the raid.

We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all the Crusader governments that they will be punished in the same way if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. He who warns is excused.

God says: 'You who believe: If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly.' "

Krosstika 07-07-2005 10:37 AM

You can always reason with an Arab. You can always reason with a barnyard animal, too, for all the good it does.:o:

Sneer 07-07-2005 10:39 AM

lets not go generalising this to every arabian. its a select, deluded few who do this and eventually they'll pay for it.

PhishFood 07-07-2005 10:39 AM

Everyone's angry, but it's no reason to become a racist.

Fenixpunk 07-07-2005 10:52 AM

im sure everyone there or near there are frustrated and angry. When 9-11 happened here, there were plenty of ppl getting beat up and harrassed because of their race and/or religion. ppl gotta keep in mind, like Stu said, this is a very small group of ppl and nobody needs to start running around whacking every person with a towel on their head, the group responsible for this arent the spokespeople for their entire race/religion.

That was uncalled for. I don't care if you feel that way or not, but keep it to yourself. Next post like that, and you get the axe.

Sneer 07-07-2005 11:04 AM

another bomb found at victoria station. if one went off there it would kill hundreds. words cannot describe what i want to do to this scum.

Krosstika 07-07-2005 11:13 AM

Nope yer wrong people...im not racist even if you think i am, it was just a sly 'off the hip' witty remark i used from a man known as 'P.J. O'Rourke'.... i simply just changed the word to Arab which was originaly German....if i'v offended anyone, i beg a thousand pardons, and the most humble forgivness!!!

besides I just find it incredible that there are sicko fanatics in the world that know no other way to communicate for a cause. Its times like this that you appreciate things.

Terrorism can NOT been seen to win. It just isnt the answer.

PhishFood 07-07-2005 11:26 AM

they're not idiots, even if we just act like they haven't won, they knew how we were going to respond...

As does every enemy, but terrorism is'nt just any enemy, there motivation is im quite sure death and destuction the world over!

PhishFood 07-07-2005 11:43 AM

i know they know they can't do that, they're very methodical, I'm not on their side, But I'm tired of everyone assuming they're simple villians.

Imonlydancing 07-07-2005 02:20 PM

Its so awful, what happend. My friends auntie was late for work, just missed the bus that blew up. and my mates Mum and Dad took a 15 minute earlier train to liverpool street, 15 minutes after they got off the train, the bomb went. what ****ing luck is that. the question thats in my mind if 'what if...?'

my thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected....seriously. xx

franscar 07-07-2005 02:55 PM

37 dead. Over 700 wounded. Unsubstantiated reports that further attacks are planned over the weekend. I dearly hope they are wrong.

Where'd you hear that? God I hope not... Why would they do it so soon?

Imonlydancing 07-07-2005 03:12 PM

god, i hope they're wrong too. its just...gah. ugh.

Krosstika 07-07-2005 03:16 PM

Sick is'nt it....there cold blooded murderers!
I sincerely hope the perpetrators are brought to justice and that the current death toll does not increase. However, it is as a result of the wonderful work of the emergency services that more didn't die. What's more, London will not feel damaged by this. It is apparent already that people are remain strong and confident that terrorists will NOT win.

No-one wins, the only logical end game, is dialogue then compromise.
30 odd years of the troubles in Northern Ireland should teach us this.
The war against terrorism ALWAYS ENDS IN STALEMATE.

Barnard17 07-07-2005 03:26 PM

One of the groups claiming responsibility says they will do the same to Denmark unless they remove their troops from Iraq. Now they've made the claim, if they plan to do it they need to act quick or Denmark will stop them.

A friend of a friend. I know that doesn't sound the most reliable of sources, but he is a well-placed security expert and has been an Al-Qaeda expert for some time. He has warned my friend who works in London to steer clear of the City until Tuesday.

He is not the sort of person to **** about over something so serious, hence why I would rather take the precautions.

Today's attacks were not planned to murder huge numbers, but to cause chaos among the London transport system. And it succeeded spectacularly.

Barnard17 07-07-2005 03:45 PM

One day? If they wanted to **** over transport they could have done better than that. I mean, when they were giving the press interviews the Tube guy said that it was already fine to use, and the only reason they weren't was because they were still finding bombs and didn't want to risk it.

It's true, You can't fight terror with violence. you can't stop people from hating you by killing them, because that will just get more people to hate you....

pastor of muppets 07-07-2005 06:01 PM

yes... the only way to stop terrorism is to find a way to reconcile these people... going in and blowing up innocent families only serves to heighten the anger they have towards us....

ArtistInTheAmbulance 07-08-2005 05:30 AM

But seeing as both 'sides' (I hate saying it like that, just reminds me of primary school arguments) are equally as pissed off at each other, they're gonna retaliate... Not sort things out.

"Men ought either to be indulged or utterly destroyed, for if you merely offend them they take vengeance, but if you injure them greatly they are unable to retaliate, so that the injury done to a man ought to be such that vengeance cannot be feared" is their logic.

Sneer 07-08-2005 08:30 AM

the death toll is now at 50 and still rising. ive also heard more attacks are expected- one bomb was found 2 miles from where i live.

dog 07-08-2005 08:56 AM

They blew up a suspicious package on a bus on Princes Street in Edinburgh last night at 5:30. My ex catches her bus home from work on Princes Street at around 5:30. Thankfully she left work an hour early last night to go home and play The Sims.

I expect there will be an awful lot of suspicious packages turning up in the next few days, people will be looking out for them everywhere.

Imonlydancing 07-08-2005 05:02 PM

^ there are so many stories like that...like in london, this guy got off the 'bomb bus' cos he wanted a newspaper....about 5 minutes later...well, yeah. People just missed it, it seems like people i know, their family or friends just missed it. Missed their train, Meeting was cancelled, left early....

Dezzy 07-08-2005 07:12 PM

Following this terrible atrcocity that is all too common these days all around the world,
I did notice a ray of light during BBC coverage of the aftermath outside Algate Tube station. There were several community leaders from major faiths of the world. Standing together side by side with genuine grief and strength.
I have faith, but do not follow any religion. To see Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, Christians and other faiths all standing together can only help if we continue to work as one, and be tolerant of others.
