I know this is an odd topic to mention this but my parents split up when I was a kid, and they said they were never, ever, ever getting back together, like a cruel twist on the Miley Cyrus song (although it was over a decade before that song was released, though I digress). Then a few years ago they remarried.
Things can change, even when people say they won't. People can change too, even when others think they can't, or won't.
