It's okay if it's really cold, but there is somewhat douchey if one has some cloth around the neck all the time.

Sounds like you've never had a girlfriend.

Because girls are supposed to wear scarves all the time?
Bah, I like my ladies uninhibited, proudly showing their obscenely exposed neck to the world.

this one is ok. I probably still wouldn't wear it, but its not the color abomination like the previous one.

I hate those.

Also, the whole polo shirt and khaki pants look popular among the business set at work and southern dudes seven days a week.

Ninetales 03-05-2015 01:44 PM

I pray everyday that I don't ever become one of those people who wear polos to work. I used to work with this guy who wore those stereotypical tourist shirts into the office. just the worst.

You pray every day about that? Is there someone out there applying guns to the heads of people with a handful of polos?

Depends on who you ask and where they're from. I think of sneakers as Vans/Converse kind of shoes, and trainers as the ones you run in. Also, these are noes:
  • Visible foundation (y'know, makeup)
  • V-neck tees
  • Yoga pants
  • Gym-related clothes out of context in general
  • Blazers in casual settings

And I repeat: Nike Air shoes. Pretty much my only reason to even start this thread. They don't look good in any context. And what are they really made for? Just chillin'? Running? Is running even comfortable with high soles like that?

Chula Vista 03-05-2015 02:03 PM

Flat brimmed ball caps look just plain dumb.

An grossly overweight unkempt looking person, stop wearing flip flops inside of sit down eating places.

Isbjørn 03-05-2015 02:06 PM

Oh, fat dudes shouldn't have long hair. Neither should basement nerds.

Thought as much. I was gonna ask what Janz said. Asics types - trainers.

Guilty of this one to be fair. Occasionally wear tracksuits like this out and about.

I don't think they're serious running gear; have you ever seen a marathon runner in Air Max? It's usually them Asics thingies. Nike Air is like a compromise between fashion and a legitimate running shoe. Plus most of the popular models came out twenty odd years ago so even if they were serious at the point of release, they aren't now.

Mister Mushroom 03-05-2015 02:49 PM

Typically anything neon colored.

Most "high-end" sneakers/trainers/whatever you call them. (e.g. Nike, Adidas, etc)

Anything that turns you into a walking billboard for the company you bought it from/that made it (Under Armour is an example)

Snapbacks (very few people can pull them off imo)

Cheap fedoras (that are actually trilbies. higher end ones can look good depending on the person, but cheap ones are just bad)

That's all I can think of right now.

Outside of the obvious choices already mentioned, I can't really think of any particularly egregious fashion choices. I think the whole fedora/ t-shirt/ jeans/ nasty neckbeard combo is an ugly one, but outside of carefully chosen OKCupid profile pictures I can't think of anytime I have ever seen one while out and about. Only other thing I can think of is people wearing toques when it's not winter and or cold out.

WWWP 03-05-2015 03:23 PM

I have horrible fashion sense so I really shouldn't be judging but there's a trend right now where I live involving girls wearing those kimono-style silk bathrobes over regular everyday casual clothes. I just don't get it.

Zer0 03-05-2015 03:23 PM

I don't care what you wear, as long as you're not the type of person who dresses like this

That was actually me in 2004. The way people used to wear caps slanted on their heads with the peaks pointing upwards :D

It was 2004 in fairness and I was a kid. I admit I'm a 'chav' anyway, it's all good.

Nah, regular ball caps are cool. And my wife's hat in this pic is perfect on her.

I despise them. Fedoras are the worst offenders (sorry Pet Sounds) but beanies and caps are poor too, especially on young people.

Seperating practical use from fashion choice changes things. Wooly hats are OK in the winter, but not the rest of the time. You end up looking like The Edge.

You're just going to have to accept the fact that you're wrong on this one James.

Never. They're gross. I regularly mock one of my friends for his constant beanie usage.

Love a good beanie, but fair point.
