Default How can I find an artist that was off the record?

Some friends of mine are trying to find out who these guys are:
(youtube: WGEC_quVM2Y) Joseph Sims is the fake nickname we gave him

We just have the record, but cannot find anything on the internet (searching for the lyrics and using software won't work)

The accent sounds like British midlands, but that's all we have until now.

It is the favorite song of his father, who found it in a compilation he bought from a bankrupted nightclub.

Any insights on how I can start looking for this?

The record doesn't list the tracks and artists?

If you have a smart phone you can use Shazam app, which you can use to identify songs by holding it close to the speaker. It seems pretty good at finding relatively obscure stuff as well, I've only had one case where nothing came up.
