my first band when I was 14 or 15, me and my bassist was in the grocery store and we heard two guys talking and one of them said, "man, dont do that, thats bad karma" right then and there we knew that was the name of our band "Bad Karma" looking back, i think its kinda lame, and ive seen another band with that name, but my point is, just look around, theres band names everywhere just waiting to be discovered.

Get a dictionary, thesurus, and your thinking cap. Open up two browser windows:
http://www.thebandregister2.co.uk http://www.google.com If you have a particular idea (or a couple ideas) in your head that sums up your band as a whole, then look it up in the thesurus. If you don't have one, peruse a dictionary till you find one, then look it up in the thesurus as well. That will give you some alternate words that you probably wouldn't have thought of. Then once you have some words you can try to make some combinations. This is usually how I figure out song names, but I'm sure it will work for a band name as well. Once you have a band name that everyone likes, look it up on those two sites I listed above. If your name isan't taken, register it at The Band Register and you are on your way!
