i'm going to go make some falafel peace out.
Is that really racism though? If it happened in Ethiopa, Ethiopians would feel more strongly about it than anyone else. If it happened in the US, they would feel the strongest about it. As it happens in Pakistan, Pakistanis are the most concerned with it. People grow a lot more interested in something when it's close to home. Proximity is one of the key factors of newsworthiness for this reason.

It is unfortunate that it's so underreported though.

Good. We care too. Stop making assumptions. It only makes you look spiteful and ignorant.

i generally keep up with news all over the world, and when i hear of ANYONE dying, it makes me sad regardless of where they are from. but maybe that is just me. and i can understand people being more upset about events in their own country just like i personally am saddened more by the events in palestine than in any other place. it's natural.

That was a quick turnaround.

sorry if that is what it seemed like. that wasn't my intention. just american news gives me the idea that people don't care but i guess it's wrong of me to make that assumption.

American news is the absolute WORST. It's horrible. We hate it too.

I'm sure you think that way but you just said on the last page that nobody cares unless it's American lives being lost. You took a pot shot at America and I think it was ignorant to do so. You then agreed that people generally care more when it happens close to home. That it's natural. Last I checked, Palestine is very far away.

So what are you talking about?

Do I like the idea of America being all imperial and launching strikes into a sovereign nation's territory? No. But I have a friend in the military, and if a drone strike means he doesn't die, then sorry, but I'm siding with my buddy.

Granted, he's in the Coast Guard, but the principle remains the same.

So what are you talking about?
yes, people usually care more when it happens close to home. but if you pay close attention or watch the news, you will see that american or even european lives tend to be more valuable to the media/news. when i say no one cares i didn't really mean the general public but i meant that it doesn't get as much attention. yes, it is natural to care more about deaths in your own country however, not to ONLY care about those and choose not to report other deaths (possibly caused by your country) again, i am talking about reporters and the media. and not even all reporters, just most. i didn't mean the average american but i obviously didn't make that clear enough with my previous statements. i hope this makes more sense.
