Welcome to Japan, where nothing makes sense!

They want a white dude because only white people are Christians, and only dudes are priests...so it fits the "image of a Western style wedding".

It's derp, but it's a sweet-paying weekend gig. $100 for 20 minutes of work, and I usually have three or four a day.

I don't get that. Why hate being reminded that you're white? I feel like I sort of get it but not really maybe that is my issue that I have to deal with. I'd definitely trade out my black card for a white card if I could for like 2 weeks.

There comes a time when you cannot afford to continue to care about the plights of the people who hurt you, because they certainly do not care about yours. It takes more emotional fortitude to "return to normal" with a person who has harmed you than can be expected of anybody. I am certainly not strong enough. If you need to cut and run, you do it.

This entire post hit so close to home but I don't know if I"m comfortable enough to talk about all of it or any of it for that matter but this year has been good for me. Going back to learning to put myself first instead of others that have decided it was a great job to take advantage of my kindness. They decided to take my kindness for weakness and regretted it when I finally put my foot down.

Yeah, there isn't much you can do. They have to hit rock bottom and decide to change their lives/come clean on their own.

You might be annoyed but it's probably his way of getting stuff off his chest usually while drunk/high but it's still his process. Are you more understanding of his plight based off of what you are going through?

Sound advice that I was getting ready to type but saw your post.

That's how I am as well. When my mother passed, I felt like it was a good thing and she was no longer suffering knowing her condition for the past few years leading up to her death.

No, because when it has noticeably helped me, I show it on the forum. WD insists to constantly get people on his side while showing no sign of it helping. Sorry, but you can't just constantly complain and hope people will be there for you every time.

Agreed. If he just wants to scream to himself in a room full of people ignoring him then fine, but if he wants any sympathy or understanding after years of the same **** and no change then I'm sorry but I don't have the patience or inclination to sink my emotions into a lost cause.

I don't imagine it's going to have any real impact on his life given how extreme his problems are and it would just make me depressed every time I saw him going through the same cycle of self-destruction over and over and over again.

Found out why my Aunt has cancer. She worked in a hospital. The room where she worked was right next to the X-ray room. The construction crew had neglected to insert a lead wall between the drywall to absorb the radiation. So for years, everyday, 20 times a day, she was getting blasted with radiation.

Wow! How could someone forget to put in a lead wall... It seems so dumb that it can't be possible.

Zhanteimi 12-06-2016 05:45 PM

Are you fucking kidding me?! Is she going to sue?

Don't get me started on that! My grandmother had my aunt already sign a contract with a lawyer without meeting the lawyer first. So now they have to do everything this lawyer says and they haven't even met the guy.

Lucem Ferre 12-06-2016 05:58 PM

Wow, doctors are really ****ing up lately.

My S7 (which doubles as my alarm clock) decided to get stuck in a boot loop and I've spent the last hour trying to fix it. I think I may (knock on wood) finally got things working again after multiple resets. I've lost all my data which is great because I don't even have my old iPhone anymore for smartswitch. And to make things even better I have to be up in 6 and a half hours for my oral exam... Awesome.

That exam shouldn't be too hard for you at least.

Normally tragedies don't affect my life on the daily too often unless it's directly correlated to me, but the Ghost Ship fire that happened in Oakland makes me pretty depressed. Poor firefighters pulling out toasted cadavers of young people who were getting their techno on. Pretty upsetting stuff.

I may have failed the exam but at the very least I was able to answer almost every question. It required a lot of bull ****ting, but at least now I'm done for the month.

Thank you both, I agree.

Got an early Christmas gift today! The government wants its student loans back and tried to withdraw my first payment from an empty account, nevermind that I don't have two pennies to rub together, I haven't graduated yet, and they're also currently in the process of issuing me another loan (to use to repay this loan I guess??). :)

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 12-07-2016 02:46 PM

Student loans are the worst

Well, the repayment at least.

They're trying to **** you. Basically. I hope it had a fixed interest rate.

Paedantic Basterd 12-07-2016 02:49 PM

Nope, floating. :)

I am not sure how I am ever going to get out of this mess, and all I did was get a student loan for one year of university. Between the loans, the fractured tooth I haven't fixed, the car whose timing belt broke, and my remaining tuition, I don't know how I will ever actually get my feet under myself so I can begin my adult life.

I've known many college graduates. The only ones who aren't miserable are the ones with something seriously wrong with them.

IDK, my sister is doing really really well. Has a nice ass house. I mean, she definitely went through her struggle period, but she definitely would not be where she's at with out her education.

Edit: As long is it's not a major in something stupid like Business Management or Psychology. I know somebody who majored in Business Management with an associates that is a meth head and lives off of food stamps. Never worked a day in her life. Either way, gotta be better than being a drop out.

Leave the country. There's tons of work overseas.

I have no employable skills. My degree is a "grad school or gtfo" type of degree.

1. Do you have a pulse?

2. Did you grow up in an English-speaking family?
