Ja I was going to mention not bringing up the white part. White people hate being reminded that they're white.

I don't get that. Why hate being reminded that you're white? I feel like I sort of get it but not really maybe that is my issue that I have to deal with. I'd definitely trade out my black card for a white card if I could for like 2 weeks.

Why do you lot pride yourselves on being insufferable? The internet is a silly place.

It's just been that way for awhile now. Part of the norm.

I'm a big proponent of "if you don't put yourself first, nobody else will". There comes a time when you cannot afford to continue to care about the plights of the people who hurt you, because they certainly do not care about yours. It takes more emotional fortitude to "return to normal" with a person who has harmed you than can be expected of anybody. I am certainly not strong enough. If you need to cut and run, you do it.

This entire post hit so close to home but I don't know if I"m comfortable enough to talk about all of it or any of it for that matter but this year has been good for me. Going back to learning to put myself first instead of others that have decided it was a great job to take advantage of my kindness. They decided to take my kindness for weakness and regretted it when I finally put my foot down.

Addicts can only help themselves. You can "help" lean them towards a self realization and progressive action towards sobriety but until they are ready to accept their problem and accept their life, nobody can help them.

Yeah, there isn't much you can do. They have to hit rock bottom and decide to change their lives/come clean on their own.

The point is, you have a terrible way of helping. I yelled at WD because he's done nothing BUT come here and complain. I come here to talk about music and whatever else. Sometimes I'm weak. Sorry.

You might be annoyed but it's probably his way of getting stuff off his chest usually while drunk/high but it's still his process. Are you more understanding of his plight based off of what you are going through?

That's okay. Just support your family members who do care, and don't be a douche.

Sound advice that I was getting ready to type but saw your post.

Death isn't that sad to me.. I understand it, it's a part of life. What hurts is when shit hits the fan and you can't make sense of it.

That's how I am as well. When my mother passed, I felt like it was a good thing and she was no longer suffering knowing her condition for the past few years leading up to her death.
