RE: California wildfires, I live just south of Lake County where Middletown was turned to ash a couple summers ago. If you could keep destruction and ruin south of the bay that would be great.
|
I design fire training facilities and have never come across a need for it here in the midwest, but we're working on a modular solution for fighting forest fires. It really doesn't get a lot of attention like the residential/commercial areas do.

My day just started, and my two-year-old son is lying on the bed singing Black Sabbath. This is going to be a great Saturday!

I want to know who chose the terrible lighting in Target dressing rooms. (Want to take a picture of some vaguely attractive piece of clothing you're trying on? TOO BAD!!!) It transforms you into a frightful beast-- a pale, ghastly demon from the bowels of hell with a body that is somehow both bulbous and gaunt, and did I mention pale? They should just turn the dressing rooms into a standalone carnival attraction called Surprise! You're a Monster! and go the whole nine yards with spooky sound effects and all. And if you want to leave the cursed mirror dome you have to fight an animatronic version of yourself who scorns you for your vanity by screaming Jenny Holzer quotes at you in a terrifying metallic monotone.

That sucks. Family make the worst eye contact.

Watching a science fiction double feature tonight: The Terminator and Robocop.

Not my day, but Sherri's. She and my new son-in-law get to the airport to start an 18 day honeymoon in Greece. Everything's been booked for months. They go to check in and are denied access to the plane.
Come to find out that travel to Greece requires that your passport be valid for at least 6 months. Sherri's expires in 3. WHAM! She needs to try and get an expedited renewal and then they hope to leave next Wednesday. All in all this is going to cost them both about an extra $5 grand. Ouch. |

I ended up booking a ticket for the next day and showing up at my regional passport office before they opened with my boarding pass in hand. By giving them proof that I need a passport same day, they were able to get it for me in about an hour and a half and it only cost, I think, $160. I checked and there's one of those offices in San Diego. If she wants to try that route, I'd say she just needs to make sure she has absolutely everything she needs before going. She should be able to find the info online, but err on the side of caution as far as bringing a variety of IDs and forms of payment. She definitely will need to bring the old passport, new photos, and the application form, which is on the website. |

Good luck to her hope it all works out.

Spent the weekend celebrating a friend's birthday at his stepfather's huge country house.
Went to bed drunk yesterday, but not that drunk. Had a dream that an evil car manufacturing company locked me in in one of their abandoned facilities and I am walking around in there, trying to escape. I also really had to pee, but couldn't find the toilets. Finally I found a balcony and decided to piss down from it. Standing there in the rain with my dick in my hand I suddenly realized that I wasn't dreaming. I was out on the balcony in the middle of the night, wearing only boxers, pissing down into the garden. Now I am haunted by visions of horrifically embarrassing what-if-scenarios. |

At least you weren't still in the bed I guess. |
^One of those scenarios...

Or standing at the rail INSIDE and peeing down onto his expensive shag carpet!

My grandparents just left and they got me drunk. (They just kept handing me wine and beer) I just accidentally dropped my half-eaten peach into my glass of wine and am eating it anyway; this has vastly improved my peach eating experience. Why doesn't everyone soak their peaches in wine before eating them??
