Yeah I didn't really take into account the vastly different mentalities when it comes to the North American and British education systems. Getting labeled a poofter can follow you throughout your entire educational career. I remember when I was living over there I had a talk with my youngest cousin (who was 10 at the time) about his time in school and finally talked to his older brother (13) about people bullying him.

He's 14 years old and I've had him for the entire 14 years. I'm pretty gutted, I don't know when it's going to happen but probably sometime this week or next. What a great birthday present. I wish I had somebody to go and cry to but I stupidly left all of my friends in another country. FML.

Uh, I can't put it into words how awful I imagine this to be. In everyday life I have my dog. I have had so for about 5 yrs, from a pup too. I can't imagine her not being here. I really really really feel for you. If I was there I'd be forced to give you a big massive hug, cos you deserve it. I see my dog as being part of the family. However silly that sounds.

I know this sounds like it should be in the Your Day BS version, but believe me, you can't make this shit up.
So, he's decided to enter it anyway, on his own, despite the fact that he's already the only boy to have done so.
And to make matters worse, he's decided he's going to dance to a Cheryl Cole record.
He's already being teased by his male peers, but he seems resolved to go ahead with this.
If he makes it through the audition, he gets to dance in front of the entire fucking school.
Knowing what I know about how this may damage him I'm stuck with the dilemma of intervening and talking him out of it, or letting him do what he wants.
I usually know how to handle stuff like this, but for once I'm truly at a loss as to what to do for the best.
It's been a long time since I was 9 and I'm wondering if any of the younger members out there can cast their minds back to the not so distant past and perhaps guide me in making a decision.

SowhatamIgonnado?...

You've either got to let him do it or speak him gently out of it, I'd go for lateralus' approach by making him feel it won't be right without his dance partner. I think you would have to persuade him into thinking that he will give it a miss. Cos if you point blank put your foot down, he will always remember it (I think)!

Sick ass day. Taking the bus home a bit intoxicated early this am. Some gangster dude starts runnin down a girl gettin on the bus, not knowing it was possibly the worst time to do so, as the bus was filled with alot of men. I grabbed the girl and threw her behind me and speared the dude. I quickly got backed up by half the dudes on the bus and we threw him off. I felt like a hero. Then I just woke up not too long ago and got a sick tat. About to blaze and go get some thai food. Excellent day,

You gotta let him do it, man. I understand it's easy for me to just say that as an outside observer, but I feel pretty content with that answer. You don't want to teach him that he should live his life for others. Once it's embedded, it's such a hard habit to break. Plus, all the fakers and tools who would make fun of him eventually grow up to fail out of junior colleges after 5 years of taking basket weaving and act like all-around douches; whereas people like your son who are true to themselves grow up to be some of the most genuinely cool people you'll meet. Think of all of the great people throughout history, and think of how many of them would pop their collar, wear oakley sunglasses, and conform today..... Ehhh? Ehh?

As for my day: my pet rock died. So, yeah. Services will be held tomorrow, and I'm pretty distraught.

Im with ant, RT. I've been on the opposite spectrum as the guy running his mouth to the 'fairy boys' who danced and such in school. One, I recently saw on one of those dancing reality shows where he placed in the top 3 then got a movie deal. The other was Chad Michael Murray, who is on tv shows, movies, seventeen magazine and such and we talked **** to him for doing underwear ads in high school. Who really got the last laugh?

I won't be logged on much this whole week. I've been in a film shooting from 9 a.m till 8 p.m, and I have a much longer day tomorrow with two back-to-back shootings, from 8:30 a.m till 6 a.m the next day.

I'll miss you :(.
