There is never enough time, but it is especially sad when someone has not had a chance to live a full, long life...and especially hard when neither the people who die, nor the people who love them, have a chance for a little closure beforehand.

The only comfort I can perhaps offer is to tell you a conversation I've had several times with my mom, as I've prepared for her eventually dying since I was quite young. When I was younger and told her that I will miss her when she dies, assuming she dies before me, she said that when she is dead, if she *could*, she would still love me. (We're atheists.)

Somehow, I found it comforting to know that it would be an unchanging fact that she loved me and wished she could do so throughout my life, even when she is dead. What will be harder for me though, I feel, is watching my mother lose herself and her life...especially if it is painful.

When I've had friends die, this is what always haunts me: knowing that they have suffered such a great loss (their life). I have never found any solution to that...just acknowledging that it is a loss and a terrible thing. I hope that the pain of death is offset by the joy of living.

Yes my good friend, it is the joy of life that is most important.
Death has a way of making a person more humble if I do say so myself, I guess there is no real way to prepair yourself for the death of a loved one, Thank You very much!

Finished cleaning my house up after the flea infestation (word of advice, never get fleas in your house, it's an absolute bitch to deal with), and after vacuuming every surface of the apartment (and I mean every one, floors, curtains, shelves, furniture) twice, my back is so stiff I can barely move. I was also VERY sleep deprived today (10 hours total over the past three days) so I was a bit loopy at work today. My students were highly entertained at all the ridiculous mistakes I was making, luckily I've had this group for a month now, so they know I'm normally very competent. I'd have hated to be like this with a new group. But, now I can relax in a very clean, flea-free apartment. *sigh of relief*

Today was a good day. The weather was nice and mild. I got some very positive feedback from a client in a meeting that I had been stressing about. I received a rare thank you from my boss. Nobody was blocking my driveway when I got home. Win all around.

And you didn't even have to use your AK.

I have a date tonight and I'm nervous! Plus we can't decide where to go, lol. I asked her for input because we're going in her neighborhood and she's more familiar, but she can't decide. Dammit I hate being nervous! Settle down Beavis, it's just a date...not a life commitment.

I knew someone was going to say that! The funny thing is I was actually listening to that song on my way to work this morning.

sidewinder 06-08-2010 06:25 PM

It might as well be my first this year too. First official, anyway. Not like I'm trying very hard though, I don't even think I'm really ready but casual dating is good even if you're not ready. That's what I'm saying anyway. Settled on a place though finally. AHHH!!

With the every member that leaves, I lose interest and lose another person who digs good music. I'm out guys, I don't think I'll be back.

Well, if you really are going out, peace. I may not have said anything but you always were one of my favorite members.
