The check engine light kept appearing on my dashboard for a short while and then it disappeared and hasn't appeared since. Usually low oil pressure and overheating, and even small little things like water on the engine or even a loose petrol cap, can cause it. But if he's charging you $1300 it must be pretty serious then.

They are selling tickets to see Hole for $9.45 as a radio promotion. I wonder if people will buy them even at that price...

Cycled to the Falkirk Wheel today with some mates, it was tough but we did it, quite a distance away.

That would just be expensive toilet paper to me.

Click Track - Courtney Love leads Hole through disastrous 9:30 Club concert

Quote:

She took the stage nearly an hour past the advertised 9:30 start time, smoking a cigarette, rambling for a minute about how she was late because she had just been hanging out with a senator friend. She also introduced an assistant, Lisa, who was on stage for the entire show filming Love on an iPhone. Not on the side of the stage. Not filming a few songs. The entire show, on stage, often directly in front of Love. Love, naturally, played to the camera more than her fans. She preened, she constantly sang in its direction, she looked like she was trying to seduce it. Love and Lisa huddled before, during and after songs, conferring about what angles to shoot, like they were Bogdanovich and Kovacs.

...

Love took a request for "Rock Star" despite admitting she didn't remember how to play it. She stumbled through half the song without strumming anything resembling one correct chord. (Why didn't she just Google the tablature on the iPhone?) She played a new song, "Pretty Your Whole Life." It was bad. Half an hour later she played it again. It was worse.

Love eventually decided to have some of her fans join her on stage. She started plucking some from the crowd and they simply sat off to the side. "Do you really like rock music?" she asked one female. "Because you're African-American. That would be like me being into Lil Wayne." She wasn't joking. One fan came on stage with a poster and asked Love to sign it. "No interaction! Go sit over there."

Nope, but I hate going to the mechanic... they are always so chauvinistic and litter their sentences with "love" - "you right, love?" "it's your radiator, love." Grrrr. *shudder*

Yeah, unfortunately the Engine Control Unit (Computer) needs to be replaced. And they're $1300 for my car, apparently. I hate my car.

This morning I took my dad in for eye surgery, after I returned from vacation last night. His vision doesn't seem much better yet, but we're hoping it will be improved by tomorrow, when I take him in for a check-up.

I took the whole day off from work to make sure I had enough time for the surgery, so after getting my dad safely home early I had free time. Yeay! I went to a local music store to price electric bass options. I was happy that the salesperson I know was there. He showed me the professional music recording studio he has set up and let me listen to some of his recent recordings of a local group, which were fun to hear.

Next, I went to a matinee of Eclipse, which kept my interest longer than New Moon...and only made me roll my eyes a few times.

Finally, I bought organic cucumbers for cucumber sandwiches, and brought one cucumber to my dad, because he had told me earlier in the day that he hadn't eaten one in ages. And I ate 4 cucumber sandwiches with vegan mayonnaise...mmm!

Changed my brakes today... the humidity around here made it horrid. I think I sweated out 5 lbs of water-weight. Then the flies... the flies... they conspired against me the entire time. Groups of hundreds who were only interested in flying in my bubble. It got to the point where I went open the garbage can to distract them, but they didn't fall for it. :(

Other than that, my day was fine. Still waiting for the new apartment people to call and let me know that the apartment is ready so I can go sign the lease and do the inspection. Getting antsy about it.
