Yeah not bad, the only time I'm after a cig is when I'm driving because I normally smoke in my car but I enforced a smoking ban so I don't temp myself. Gave away all my lighters so I can't spark up if I buy cigs. It's been two days but I don't know wither it'll get harder or not though. :(

Hopefully you'll succeed next time :).

  • In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
  • In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
  • In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
  • In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.
  • In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.
  • In 3 to 9 months coughing, wheezing, and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%.
  • In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.
  • In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
  • In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
  • In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.

I found the first 2 days a piece of piss, it was day 4 where things started to become difficult, and by day 5 I was near impossible to be around. I sat there for 2 hours begging my housemate for a roll up, and the fact he gave in probably speaks volumes for how much of a twat I was being.

You've just got to display more strength than I did and power on through the irritable/craving stage, it's doable if you want it enough.

I stopped for about a month not so long ago. And it wasn't too bad, I eventually caved because I didn't believe that I'd be able to go to Mexico and not smoke. But I think it may be a little different this time.

I love seeing "profound" lyrical passages in my news feed, Googling them, and finding out they were written by The All American Rejects.

Another day of being extremely paranoid I'm still going to die. I am being so careful when swallowing food or even liquids, for fear that I'll reopen the tear in my esophagus.

I have a t-shirt from the other night which looks like I got shot. It's completely covered in dried blood.

And the doctor thought that I probably scraped my esophagus swallowing a tiny piece of glass from the bottle, but couldn't see any glass...so it's comforting to know that there may still be a sharp piece of glass somewhere in my body. </sarcasm>

Today I was up stupidly early.
Now I'm on my laptop, going through my old links folder, where I found this place.
I'm also listening to some metal recommendations from a coworker (The Human Abstract, specifically) and drinking coffee.
Later, I'm going to write for a while, then go to work for a bit, then probably eat pizza, watch Your Highness and go to bed.
