My day:

GF's almost done with chemo (2 more sessions)... daughters mother is finally out of jail, and that scares me a bit... Lost (by one vote) an online metal competition to some tool that invited all his FB friends to join the site and vote for him... Working with a salesperson at work on technical things that they have no understanding of and have already quoted way below cost BEFORE checking with me on how we need to proceed... my elbow is finally healing after blowing up some from bumping it on my desk a couple times, but I feel bone fragments in there... heard that a buddy of mine broke up with his GF after seeing me and her dancing at a block party (for about two seconds as we were walking across the street, I gave her a "spin" as Dancing In The Streets was playing)... got a pile of work sitting here in front of me as I'm posting my days events on a public forum.

I need a beer.

ON the spur of the moment I went down a rd. where I know there's a lot of houses advertising rooms and rang one of them. The woman I was talking to was in the house and I said I was outside so went to speak to her. I'm moving in on friday! That'll teach that **** of a landlord not to evict wanker tenants who threaten non-wanker tenants with violence with virtually every breath they take. Its a shared house bur its got a lock on tje door and a fridge in the room. Its also got internet which means i can come off the one-plan ive been on cause i need to tether so i can gi back to £5 payg saving me 20-30 squids a mth.The best thing about it is it's 15 squid a week cheaper so I only have to pay 8 squid a week top-up from my housing benefit whereas im paying 22 squid atm. Also im hoping its got a better shower room...like one with a light bulb in it snd that isnt situsted in an airing cupboard. Plus it's double-glazed windows so should be warmer. Its nearer town too. In fact it's less than 2 mins walk away from where Cheryl stands soliciting sex from strangers for money so she might come round for a coffee. Not seen her for a while 'cause I'm watching the pennies and not been into town drinking plus she's probably on materinity leave though I've been surpised she's been out working even though she's now showing quite a bit and has been for about a month now.

So, my new motherboard died. Bummer. Tried to RMA it back to Asus, but their customer service is so horrible, I've decided to just buy another one just so I don't have to wait months and months to get a new one.
Should have a new one in 5-7 business days.
Being without a computer has its perks, though. When I am in this situation, I am forced to do something constructive! And today, I have done just that...

Rearranged my room/studio so that it's a more simple and functional space (relative to what it was before). Previously, everything was cluttered to hell and the simple act of connecting my synthesizer to my mixer involved unspeakable effort and gratuitous obscenities.
Now, I have thought ahead, and everything is ready, and if not, very reachable.
Also replaced the uselessness of those wall panels all being behind my station, and placed them around the room... the acoustic effect is actually far better. Not perfect, as I still require bass traps and more diffusion material, but it's a step up.

Also, I was able to jury-rig my desk into no longer being a corner desk, and the added linear desk real-estate has enabled me to both get out of the corner with my speakers, and widen my listening field so that an equilateral triangle is now possible without having to be 2 inches away from my screens.

My only regret is that I will not be able to use it properly for a week. Hurry up, new motherboard!

No I think he was being serious, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious myself. Certainly makes my room look like crap by comparison.

Well, that after two weeks or so of flirting, going on dates, saying she likes me, and then literally falling asleep in my arms, that girl decided that she wants some other guy with absolutely no warning. I wake up and look at Facebook, and there it is. Contact her, and it is confirmed. Bull****.

It figures that the one time I meet a girl into all the same music, books, movies, art, and humor that I am, she also turns out to suck.
