Had a buddy of mine and a cousin come over and jam with my brother and I. The instrument lineup was...

Me on drums.
Bro on bass and keyboard.
Cousin on guitar and saxophone.
Buddy on guitar.

My brother and cousin play together regularly, which shows. They have a definite groove and can work with each other easily, plus they're both incredible musicians. I haven't played drums with other people since the band I was in dissolved back in January. My buddy doesn't play with other people, and honestly doesn't even play very well.

We started by playing some Black Sabbath covers, which sounded okay. Then we played some random punk-type songs and a bit of Metallica, which were worse. Then we tried a few other metalish songs, which sucked beyond what the English language can describe. My cousin switched to sax and we tried a 50's style pop song made up on the spot, and then we played the same song reggae. That went well. And then my brother started playing the bass line to Pink Flyod's "Money" and we all jumped in. And FINALLY we started sounding really good. We improvised the whole thing and essentially turned it into a 15 to 20 minute free jazz thing... which was awesome.

Once we started playing jazz, we found our niche and really did good. I don't have high hopes that this is a lasting thing, since my buddy and I are in college and the other two are in high school. But still, I hope we can play around more, because I was really missing playing in a group, and my drumming is sloppy and in need of practice with others.

And I have to say, I enjoyed playing free jazz more than what I was playing in my last band, which was a mix of folk and indie pop rock. This is more like what I actually listen to.

And it will be a miracle if anyone reads this mess.

It amazes me that she's getting concerned over germs, I mean just look at what she does on a day to day basis.

BTW, who the hell asks to borrow 9 pence?

Also you need your head examined putting sugar puffs back, that's one of the best cereals around.

All I know vis a vis her being pregnant is when I met her Fri night she said she'd been attacked by an American guy and then she said something about being pregnant and I said 'what?!!' so she lifted up her top and showed me her belly which was puffed out a bit. W/e or not she was just puffing it out and the whole thing about being attacked and pregnant was just classic junky whore fantasy **** I don't know. I suspect it was but I don't know. I'm preparing myself for a 'i've had a miscarriage' story in the not too distant future. I forgot to look at her bellly when I saw her in town the next day.

As to the 2nd thing you said you must not have read what i put properly. I was recounting two seperate trips in to town only the first of which related to Cheryl. The other was just a general anecdote about something totally un-Cheryl related.

as to your 3rd point. Cheryl does!

4th point. They were on offer too!!! £3.00 for 2 boxes. I'd have got them but wanted to keep a bit of spare change and if I'd have got them I'd have only had a squid left.

Today I have done nothing, but join this site and listen to Justin Townes Earle. And I would say, it has been quite the day.

Just got back from a several-mile hike with my dog. Gonna catch some grub, hit the streets for one of my favorite bar's 18th anniversary, and then.... Wiffle ball.

Back to work after a weekend trip to London with my wife.

Our weekend in London was absolutely brilliant. We saw the Phantom of the Opera (which was awesome), visited the national art gallery, the natural history museum, the old operating theatre, the Clink. We visited some of the parks like St. James and Hyde Park. We did some shopping (mostly vinyls for me) and enjoyed a lot of pub food.

Exhausting days, but a lot of fun and the weather was warm and sunny. London is a much more interesting city than Oslo, I think. I'd consider looking for a job as a biologist in London or elsewhere in England, but unfortunately it seems to me moving there would nearly cut my salary in half.
