Today I found out during a jam session that I sing quite a bit like Tom Waits if I do his convulsing dance mannerisms when I'm singing. Good stuff.

That is always a good thing to find out. I sing similar to the guy from Volbeat. Super low.

Sorry to hear this. Let's hope that drumming takes you where you want to go musically haha.

Yeah I know lol. I'm not really satisfied with my singing voice. I try to mix it up and sing along to Iggy Pop and other similar punk singers and I think I do pretty well. If I ever find a band that is more on the punk side of things I'll ask them what they think.

I can also pull off a decent lounge singer voice. Very Ratpack-ish.

Now lounge singing ain't half bad. You'd do well amongst most of those who stay at MB :P. Here's a good vocal exercise if you're interested in singing: try to sing a harmony to songs that you know well, sing a fourth or fifth off would be my suggestion, and you can train yourself to focus on what you're singing without getting distracted. Plus you can sing into something that muffles your voice, that way your shyness (which is common, actually) in singing goes away and you can train yourself well. I could be giving you ****e advice, but these two things led me to become the lead singer of my band.

Very happy right now. I became a Daddy for the second time, on 18 October, to a beautiful baby girl.
