i went to the dentist today, and in the waiting room i saw this amazing and strange display of affection between an older man and his son ( about 14-15 ), the boy was sleepy and tired of waiting for his mother to come out, so he put his head on his father's knees while the father scrathed his back....and from that single gesture you could tell they have this loving and easy going relationship, i felt so strange seeing it....i don't know anybody that has that kind of relationship with their father....

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

i got home last night and kelly left a note on my door saying that johns MRIs came back looking better than the doctors originally thought, and hes going to be ok. I havent had a chance to talk to him to get any details but it sounds like hes going to be able to walk but has a pretty rough road ahead of him. He wont be playing anytime soon though. Lots of therapy and time in a neck brace. But its still good news.
