I do agree it sounds condescending, but only the way they address you. If they say it condescendingly, they want to appear with higher authority, but me and my friends say it all the time and even people I meet for the first time. Doesn't really bother me.

Yeah I say it all the time too but I mean in a friendly, caring way. I love when people try to accuse me of being condescending when I'm not.

If more than one person is accusing you of being condescending then maybe you should pick up on the tone and the way you are speaking to people and realize that you MAY actually be condescending to them without realizing it.
