Absolutely.

If I specifically have it modified and it still comes to me looking like garbage, chances are I'll never eat at that place again.

This exactly. I hate those vegetarians/vegans who act superior. Especially considering how many other products they use are either from animals or animal tested.

It's cool that you are doing something to help reduce impact but don't act like you aren't contributing to the death of animals. It's almost impossible unless you are living in the woods or incredibly wealthy.

I have no problem with vegetarians, but even though I'm gonna be a bridesmaid in one's wedding, its still a subject I've always avoided with her. Ever since one drunken night where she said the animals should be treated with more respect, and I'm like 'dude everything's irrelevant and we're all gonna die and rot anyways." In my head though. Out loud I pretended to be drunker than I was. Zero interest in discussing it. Because the whole treat animals with respect always throws me, they sure as **** wouldn't treat me with respect.

This thread has more mind numbingly militant vegetarian opinions than a YouTube comment section for Le Sang des Bêtes.

Sansa was smart to bring up the classism. Not trying to ruffle feathers, but a starving person doesn't have the luxury of choice. Being vegetarian is a very privileged thing that you won't see in places like Africa.

I'm sorry but these are stupid arguments. Were all gonna die and a living creature with no concept of respect won't respect me therefore who gives a ****?

You can't be serious.

Don't wanna be that guy, but I'm a human, I haven't the slightest clue of how an animal thinks and no one ever will, so to say they have no concept of respect isn't exactly true.

Unless you're a disrespectful rhinoceros speaking on behalf of every animal ever, then never mind.

Rhinos have been known to be pretty disrespectful towards humans. Not as much as hippos though.

Then there's always all the animals that have attacked and eaten humans. Bet those humans suffered as their arms were ripped off and they were eaten alive.

Respect is a human concept though... most non-human animals aren't socially developed. Certain species of monkeys/chimps/apes/etc, domesticated animals, a few others here and there like dolphins have evolved a sense of observable social behaviors that take into consideration their peers.

Either way it's a moot point. Yeah, obviously there's been animal attacks and human beings were brutally killed and/or maimed but that's still not a justification for how livestock are treated. We have the capacity to be above that. Like the examples I gave we're capable of compassion and understanding what other living things experience. And imo it's boorish to betray that trait. I mean honestly, is your rationale for eating meat seriously that if a human being has been maimed or killed by an animal (probably one that isn't regularly consumed, even) than it's okay to do the same to literally billions of animals annually? Don't you think that's a bit of an extreme tilt on the scale?
